DeMarcus Ware just threw Romo under the bus!

The moral of the story is, a play on 3rd and 6 to ice such an important game should have been practiced so much it was like clock-work.

I blame coaching. It was Garrett's idea to have a reciever with one hamstring running the 1st read, it was Garrett's idea to have the first read on a play that needed 6 yards to be an over the shoulder 15 yard catch.

I agree. I blame coaching for having a wide open, easy pitch and catch big gainer opportunity between our franchise QB and highest paid WR.

When, oh when, will this coaching quit holding back all our scary talent?!

That play worked when Holley ran it. See Garrett should have put Holley out there. :laugh2:

It was a well draw up play the other WR and TE did a great job of clearing out that side of the field and the play was there for the taking. Miles claimed he lost the ball in the lights not an excuse either way but it is what it is. But in terms of the play it was a good call and one that should have been made

Forgive me if I just can't get worked up about one random play out of so many miscues this past season.

All that matters are the Cowboys are not playing this weekend...again.

I don't think Miles ran anything wrong or lost it in the lights or anything else. I think he clearly wasn't quite 100% and couldn't quite get to the ball. Romo laid it up for him, he couldn't quite get to it.

It's not a matter of "fault", as much as when you throw it that far downfield, the % of completion is going to go way down.

Having said that, Demarcus is a smart guy. He knows what it means to criticize - no matter how gently - a teammate, especially a QB. I'd wager that the Cowboys lockerroom isn't in great shape. More than anything, I'd say our better veteran players are just sick of losing.

Did you even read the post? Do you even understand the situation?

Garrett should have given more consideration to the lighting and the natural trajectory of the football in that situation. :)

:smh:

I don't see anything inflammatory in Ware's comments one way or another. In the end, football's a game of inches. We need more inches. Pass rush, and protecting the passer.

Yeah, I read the post. Yeah, I understand the situation.

And, yeah, I saw a play call that exposed the Giants' defense and had our franchise QB with a wide open highly paid WR for what might have been a TD.

The coaches can only put the players in a position to succeed. Then it's up to the players to make the plays.

If Anthony Spencer would of said that people would be going nuts and calling for his head. But Since Ware gets a pass on everything around here it's a non issue.

I agree. Call the time out check your light meter and call the play accordingly. :laugh2:

Not sure why Ware was not asked how the defense could blow a 2 score lead late in that game. Had they done their job this offense play becomes moot

Did he say anything about how it shouldn't have mattered - HIS defense should've been able to have their backs and keep the Giants from scoring after the punt?

They score 34 points and Bayless is singling out a particular offensive play? The defense give up 37? Does Bayless have an agenda?

Based upon the responses on this board, his agenda appears to be working...

Maybe Ware needs to figure out how not to answer a fool with a fool's response. Maybe Ware should show a little leadership and a little humility by suggesting it wasn't eithers fault - his defense surrendered 37 points.

Did you see the interview?

This is honestly a non issue. He wasn't calling out anyone. He was merely trying to share the blame.

You claim to be aware of the situation, but you fail to acknowledge that to walk away with a win that game we needed not a touchdown, but a measly 6 yards. You know what great, chain-moving, possesion patch-casser who hadn't missed the previous 5 (or whatever it was) games was? Jason Witten.

Yes, in that instance it was open, but there is much more that goes into a pass other than a WR being open. The 1st read on that play had a much higher percentage of failure (AS WE ALL CAN ATTEST TO), than a 6 yard pass into Witten's chest in the middle of the field. He handled the situation poorly, just like many others, and surely many more to come.

Another factor on that play was that Miles had been injured and doing very little in practice; and he and Romo were just not in sync.

No, because the question was who was more to blame for that particular play, Romo or Austin? Skip wanted to make it all on Austin, so Ware tried to have his back and give Romo the blame too.

Not for me. It would not matter to me which guy said it on defense.

I would just think Skip is asking the wrong people the wrong question. As part of the defense be it Ware or Spencer the question that needed to be asked is what happen to you in the loss vs NY. You were in a position to win and the defense caved giving up a 2 score lead late in the game. I think Ware or Spencer or any of the defensive players are in a better position about answering that than what happened on an offensive play
