Denver reached out about Sanchez trade

Sanchez has a number of qualities that are a good fit. He's smart, has been under major media scrutiny, and is entering a phase in his career where his path is as a backup. His Mexican American heritage is also a nice fit, particularly since he's done outreach work in many such communities. Good mentor and role model.

In the negative column is the fact that he's a terrible QB.

The truth is if Dak went down for any period of time at all in the next several weeks we could do much worse than Sanchez.

He will be cut and his contract is too high but after getting cut he would be worth bringing in. He can help manage the game a little. You wouldn't want him being asked to do too much but with our line and running game he could just manage the game and be alright.

He's no worse than what we trotted out there last year, but he's much too expensive to be another Weeden/Cassel.

I'll take Sanchez from them in exchange for a 2nd rounder. Anything less and it's just not worth the stink.

I mean, if he's cheap and released and for the minimum sure. He isn't going to play.. It's insurance.

Butt fumble aside, I think he's better than a lot of other backup prospects right now. But that speaks more to the rest of the options than it does his skill.

Let's face it--All he would have to do is beat 4 - 12.

Why bother, the QBs on the roster already know how to turn it over.
