Per Wade Phillips Press Conference.

Deon Anderson has a torn rotator cup?? and is put to IR to make a place for Tank.

He doesn't know for sure, says "early in the 2nd half. Played well, played his best game. Unfortunate Injury"

"Played through entire game?"

"Hoyte was cleared to play last week, but didn't have his strength"

"Don't know what direction to go yet. Bring someone in. Use Hoyte."

I wish for once we could get some luck with fullbacks.

He played the entire game.... so, I believe the injury severity is a surprise.

bad news....he was a solid producer as a safety valve. Hopefully Hoyte is 100% now.

Rookie fullback suffered torn rotator cuff against Eagles

03:35 PM CST on Monday, November 5, 2007
By TODD ARCHER / The Dallas Morning News
tarcher@***BANNED-URL***

In order to make room for defensive tackle Tank Johnson, the Dallas Cowboys on Monday placed rookie fullback Deon Anderson on injured reserve.

Anderson suffered a torn rotator cuff in Sunday's 38-17 win at Philadelphia but did not miss a snap.

Johnson missed the first eight games of the year because of a suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, but he had been able to practice the last two weeks.

Does this mean our season is over?

Why is everyone acting like chicken littles here?

I tore my rotator cuff playing ultimate frisbee in the mud back in december '02. I finished the game without much of an issue but couldn't sleep that night or lift anything for a few months. Pain just got progressively worse, so I guess that's kind of what happened with him.

The question is, will they try and replace him. It breaks the required positional numbers. Considering how well they are playing and if Hoyte is ready, will they just sit still for now and then make a move if Hoyte gets injured again? If he does, they can just finish the game using more H-back sets, but will have no choice but to go after another FB for blocking purposes.

This is a game of chance if they do not sign another fullback.

It just means that our run blocking gets better.
