Depth at Center

You may wish to first wait until the franchise's official site publishes a depth chart before going with a non-dallascowboys.com speculated depth chart.
you're just mad that it's espn and you work for BSPN!!

This is why I was pissed they let Hoffman go
he played center pretty good
I couldn't think of his damn name yes hoffman, guys like this who were depth pieces, hopefully we don't see how much we really miss them!!

Have the Cowboys prepared themselves enough this season for backup positions one such as center? Look at Beebe, if he were to go down in a game, who is that swing player we can put in to play center that may also give you help at guard? Looking on ESPN's depth chart for this season, there's a Nick Leverett that's our back up center, with Hennessy being out on the IR. Just something to think about, please give your input!
The only way we will find out is if we have an injury before we counted on Hoffman.. But apparently they thought letting him go over Bass was a good idea maybe it's Bass maybe they're grooming him to be a swing guard and center..

But again we won't know unless BB goes down for a long period of time and then maybe they go out and get one...

Look my guess is they're gonna use training camp to groom the backup if it doesn't workout, they'll get another guy in here but right now when you have 90 players on the roster and lots of times that start training and grooming guys and see who fits and who doesn't then this question is premature as usual.....

when you have no one that has played center in a game; and I think we do not; outside of the starting center, that is not a good thing no matter how hard you want to excuse it.
As often as we use the shotgun, having to rush a guy right in that has never done it in a game is asking for trouble.

I think they're confident Bass can play Guard and Center, or they're at least willing to believe it until or unless he proves them wrong — that would really justify placing that 2nd-round tender on him and giving him the money they gave him — not a big contract but kind of a lot for a backup OL from what I've heard.

They also have Trevor Keegan, who they signed from the Eagles last season. He has played Center and Guard in preseason games for the Eagles. A quick Google AI query indicated he played well at each position in those game and was cut not due to performance as much as the Eagles needed the roster spot.

Yes loosing hennsey depth at center is a concern. Thinking a vet will be signed after the final cuts

preseason games are better then nothing I guess
but looking at his profile I see nothing to indicate he has ever played center in any real game at any level

In other words, we absolutely do not have a legitimate backup Center because the front office got super greedy and simply refused to pay $2.4 / season for an extension to keep the very well proven Brock Hoffman. The Cowboys super greedy plan of instead picking up Hennessy has backfired, tragically, and now those bad decisions are kicking our Cowboys in the behind.

The Cowboys front office and new coaching staff dropped the ball big time.

Conner Lew the center from Auburn was still on the board when the Cowboys took Drew Shelton. He was considered the best center in the draft by many people. That should've been the pick.

They got cute saved some nickels & dimes to let a quality multi positional OL go to FA , Hoffman now it looks like Bass is Beebe back up . I’m sure as camp progresses they will watch other teams cuts for interior line now that Hennessy is gone and draft didn’t net an interior linemen .

I am most concerned with our depth at RB on offense more than Center. If Javonte Williams goes down, its a big drop. The offense would be totally one dimensional then, and that would not be good. Everything would be on Dak's arm then, and we've seen that before.
Overall Im excited to see the new look D, they can't possibly be any worse than we got last year. Up is the only way to go. It is a big concern at the same time, did they do enough. Did they move the bar enough just to be middle of the pack on D? But if the offense takes a hit like Javonte going down, our RB room is totally unproven behind him. RB is the position on offense thats thinnest depth wise to me.

I look at the RB room differently . I like younger backs with fresh legs over older over priced RB with mileage ( Dalvin Cook experiment ) . Blue Mafah and Davis should be able to gain positive yards even catch some passes . Davis started against Wash last year gained 100 yards .
