Depth at Center

You do realize they let Hoff go to sign a real center? One who’s done it his whole career? Are you going to blame them for the injury?
Hoffman did a good job; there was no reason to let him go
they took a chance and it backfired on them
go whine somewhere else; we are all full up here

Conner Lew the center from Auburn was still on the board when the Cowboys took Drew Shelton. He was considered the best center in the draft by many people. That should've been the pick.
:lmao: There’s best center in the draft was picked in the fourth round. Some best center he must be.

Bears took Logan Jones in the 2nd round, Chargers took Jake Slaughter in the 2nd round, and Raiders took Trey Zuhn in the 3rd round. Maybe many people had it wrong.

Cowboys also went into the draft saying they weren't drafting injured players. Lew was coming off an acl.

The whiner says I should go whine somewhere else! Let me know where you go and I’ll meet you there. Btw, getting a true center was not taking a chance and you’re not an nfl GM. Lol

maybe he is or maybe he is not
if he was so good why have multiple teams let him go?
and Hoffman could play multiple positions
The cowboys front office does many dumb things. I wouldn’t have minded if they kept Hoff, but to blame them for getting Hennessy to replace him is not one of them. Ultimately it didn’t work out but you can’t blame them for the injury.

Greedy? Hennessy has been a center his whole career. And better at it than Hoff.
Really? A Center that's been either on the bench or injured. The last time Hennessy played was only 3 games way back in 2022. Hennessy has started only 22 games but way back during 2020-2022.

Brock Hoffman has started 16 games, all within the past 2.5 years (2023-2025). Hoffman has the latest experience, has never been injured and has proven himself to be very good the past 2.5 seasons.

Yet, you are arguing for Hennessy? Quick kissing this failed organization's behind when they make bad decisions brother. You are making yourself look bad.

I just proved you wrong with my previous response. This organization absolutely made the wrong decision letting go of Hoffman for this now 3+ years of an injury riddled player in Hennessy. Horrible mistake that could have been prevented for a cheap $2.4 million / year contract that Hoffman demanded. Instead, the Cowboys threw away $1.6 million on an oft-injured Hennessy who hasn't played since 2022 and likely might never play in the NFL again due to another serious injury.

It doesn't get any dumber than this. There is no defense for this.

Have the Cowboys prepared themselves enough this season for backup positions one such as center? Look at Beebe, if he were to go down in a game, who is that swing player we can put in to play center that may also give you help at guard? Looking on ESPN's depth chart for this season, there's a Nick Leverett that's our back up center, with Hennessy being out on the IR. Just something to think about, please give your input!
Its t j bass

except for the fact of how many times he has been seriously injured in his career

I'm sure you are right but I don't understand Tyler not wanting to be a tackle. It pays more.
He understands like everyone else with a brain that he is a better guard then tackle
and its not like he is going to starve on what he makes at guard
money is NOT everything; some people seem to be unable to grasp that

I’m not kidding anything. I’m going by the so called experts on the interwebs. And neither of us are experts or we’d be GMs. Lol

I liked Hoff but I think you’re overvaluing him. We have differing opinions and that’s okay.

If he can stay healthy (he wasn't last year had tendonitis) he knows he has a great shot at being a HOF guard. If he plays LT he knows he will be at the back end of the top ten in the league if he's lucky. It's all about the skillset.
