Depth at Center

I am most concerned with our depth at RB on offense more than Center. If Javonte Williams goes down, its a big drop. The offense would be totally one dimensional then, and that would not be good. Everything would be on Dak's arm then, and we've seen that before.
Overall Im excited to see the new look D, they can't possibly be any worse than we got last year. Up is the only way to go. It is a big concern at the same time, did they do enough. Did they move the bar enough just to be middle of the pack on D? But if the offense takes a hit like Javonte going down, our RB room is totally unproven behind him. RB is the position on offense thats thinnest depth wise to me.
Nah. Totally disagree.

We are just fine at RB.

●Power running RBs:
1) Javonte Williams
2) Phil Mafah
3) Malik Davis
4) Dominic Richardson
●Speed running RBs:
1) Jaydon Blue
2) Israel Abanikanda

Loool...perfect responses brother!

Still another round of free agents coming when the roster cut downs happen. IOL depth was clearly a priority for them to go out and get Hennessy. Hopefully a decent vet will get cut that catches their eye

I think Shelton was drafted because they are not ecstatic over the Guyton Steele combo regardless of what Pravda Frisco burps out .
Yes, very true. I still feel the bigger hole as backup is at Center. At the Tackles, if either Guyton or Steele need to be replaced, we still have decent backups to step in like Nate Thomas, Ajani Cornelius and Marcellus Johnson (all Olinemen with experience playing O-Tackle whether in college and/or in the pros). At Center, what proven experience do we now have at backup Center (Hoffman is no longer here)? Absolutely NONE. Zero.

The Cowboys messed up. They should have made backup Center a bigger priority than backup Tackle DURING THE DRAFT, and we now see why. Good luck if Cooper Beebe suffers a major injury that keeps him out more than 2-3 games. When our offensive plays start getting blown up right up Center, we will have no one to blame but these coaches (decision makers) and our front office.

Good luck.

Nate Thomas is not NFL caliber T he was horrible last year . He’s a late round pick small school that’s what he is . The sooner they start TC reps at G with Thomas the better .

They got cute saved some nickels & dimes to let a quality multi positional OL go to FA , Hoffman now it looks like Bass is Beebe back up . I’m sure as camp progresses they will watch other teams cuts for interior line now that Hennessy is gone and draft didn’t net an interior linemen .
Or the OL coaches liked Hennessy a lot better than Hoffman.

when you have no one that has played center in a game; and I think we do not; outside of the starting center, that is not a good thing no matter how hard you want to excuse it.
As often as we use the shotgun, having to rush a guy right in that has never done it in a game is asking for trouble.
You do realize they let Hoff go to sign a real center? One who’s done it his whole career? Are you going to blame them for the injury?

In other words, we absolutely do not have a legitimate backup Center because the front office got super greedy and simply refused to pay $2.4 / season for an extension to keep the very well proven Brock Hoffman. The Cowboys super greedy plan of instead picking up Hennessy has backfired, tragically, and now those bad decisions are kicking our Cowboys in the behind.

The Cowboys front office and new coaching staff dropped the ball big time.
Greedy? Hennessy has been a center his whole career. And better at it than Hoff.
