The first thing Brooks should say to some of the defense: "Look guys. Marinelli is a great teacher. He'll put in great position to make plays. If you buy in 100% and get your assignments down cold, you will be great. Don't and you'll get cut I hope. Let's get to work!"

I wouldn't mind if they brought Anthony Munoz in for a few days at TC, either. Munoz was on NFL Radio this morning saying that he's often invited to camps to help teams with techniques. Last year he was invited by the Commanders and Callahan.

Marinelli still trying to recapture what he had almost 15 years ago in Tampa. Reminds me of when Parcells had a few of his old Giants players show up in camp to try and help the defense.

Not sure if this is a statement or criticism. But bringing someone in that was successful in your system and under you is done by every coach from high school to the pros. From volleyball to tennis. Look at every mini camp and training camp let alone every coaching staff around the league and you see two or three of these types of instances.

But then you have guys like Byron Jones who just flat out suck. He'll never be in a good position to make a play.

It's a criticism of Marinelli who hasn't built a quality defense in years. The Cowboys brought him in to try and recapture his past glory from 15 years ago in Tampa. We're having the damn same issues with him that we had under Kiffin and Ryan.

Always good to have a great former player help work with current players. Always liked Brooks and have a great deal of respect for him as a player.

On a related note, I truly hope the gamble on Jaylon Smith pays off!!!
