So it’s either “I told you so’s” or “he stinks”. Nepotism didn’t get him drafted lol. He was a great college player.
It's a GM and Draft expert's job to be able to know which h guys are just great college players and which ones will be great pro players.

It's not just luck of the draw....there's plenty examples of great college rbs and wrs that are just so SO small that they just don't cut it against grown men in the NFL game....even though they succeeded in college.

Who they never utilize. Watch Philly sign Henry, and totally blow our minds.
Only if they could get him for pennies on the dollar.

We might throw a 2nd at a player of his age with maybe 10 to 15 games of productivity left in his knees....but I doubt Philly would offer more than a 5th.

That sad....with the way they have been fleecing Tenn in trades, they might very well do it again

I would rather save the draft pick and use it to get a 21 year old RB who might play for five or more seasons with the team than a 30 year old winding down his career for a bigger chunk of the cap.

Let's pretend the window is wider than a single season and not close it for the future.
We’ve tried this “let’s keep that window open and hold back” strategy for a long long time. It doesn’t work. Once again we will find ourselves good enough to compete for a playoff spot with little chance of getting to the Super Bowl. Daks arm can’t get us there. We need a big bruising RB to get us the tough yards.

Live in NY, Barkley I’d overrated and is always hurt
I get that, bro. I still think, if healthy, just as a player, he's a better fit. Given all the factors and considering what you're saying, Henry might be the better choice. I just think Barkely is the better player, and I'd even be tempted to keep him healthy especially for the 9ers.

If the Browns can beat the 9ers. If Cousins can be them, we can too.

That's what irked me about McCarthy's play calling.

It's not the OL players, imo ... it's the OL run scheme, and play calling - and it's the new OL coach.. there were not only run lanes and creases for Pollard to explode thru last year, but that was also a front that included McGovern and TE Schultz blocking and we still had splash plays runs with Pollard.

I'd thought for sure with the arrival of OL coach Mike Solari, we'd have a stretch- slant run design scheme that emphasizes
off tackle runs and cut-back lanes. That's what the Shanahan run scheme does ... that's what the Dolphins Mike McDaniel
run scheme does ... that's Jax Jaguars and Travis Etienne Jr. run game does

Some here keep insisting on a power back cuz we dunno anything else - we've always had power, bell cow RBs
ala Emmitt, Murray.. Zeke ... we dunno All Purpose types like McCaffrey, Etienne Jr; Kamara, etc, ..and apparently
cannot see otherwise,..

If Henry were to come here under McCarthy, we'd just run him outta shotgun formation instead of giving him deep handoffs
from QB under center.
Our run scheme is more inside zone then the outside zone we see with the Rams/49ers. Pollard fits the outside zone to a tee, but yet all we see is interior runs in which he see a defender in his face once he gets the football, just like we saw with Zeke last year.

What I have seen a lot of backside tackles for loss when they decide to pull and leave a defender unblocked. To my surprise, the TE's have struggled blocking and are worse then last year in which Shultz was on the field. They were suppose to be upgrades. Steele is still coming back from an acl and isn't the same player we saw last year thus far. The other lineman have struggled at the point of attack, believe Biaz might be playing elsewhere next season. To me Pollard also looks already worn down and has yet to have an explosive, long TD run.

They have to fix the issues with the scheme, execute better and manage Pollard more efficiently. Does that mean adding another running back or Dowdle taking on a larger role?

We should be able to both run/pass better with the personnel we currently have, this to me is more about the lack of coaching/scheme. This is why I put up a post about possible HC candidates next season as I don't think this is going to end well.

ModEdit: https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/new...-rb-surprise-sleeper-team-emerges-sweepstakes

The sleeper team expected to be in the market for Henry are the Dallas Cowboys. The belief from many is Henry could end up in the NFC East with the Cowboys if Tennessee is willing to eat some of the money remaining on Henry’s contract, estimated to be around $6.2 million.

The Cowboys have Tony Pollard at the top of the depth chart- a player they franchised after releasing Ezekiel Elliott in March. Henry’s power running style is viewed as the perfect compliment to Pollard’s big play ability as a ball carrier and pass catcher.

Pauline is proven to be one of the best insiders who has been on the money in the past.
Our FO is a joke and the rest of the league knows it. What team is going to give up their BEST chess piece and eat a part of the contract too?????? JJ is just getting his excuse readied for when everyone puts him on blast for standing pat. He'll play the blame game saying, "We tried to make that big splash, but the other team won't work with us". No Jerry, you cheap prick that's not going to fly with Cowboy Nation!

What have they done since 2012? The same? Ok.
Is that really the logic we are going with here? “Since they won the Super Bowl a decade ago they have not been to another one”. I would take winning a Super Bowl every 10-15 years then just being pretty good the rest of the time.

And you think it would be easier to get past the Chiefs.
I don't know if is. But we haven't beat the Niners in many games. Think about it. Would you like to keep playing an opponent you cannot beat, or try a different opponent?

The front office got the Texans to pick up a portion of Cooks contract and lowered the draft compensation

He’s been doubted his whole life and has proven people wrong at every level of football there is. I’m not in position to write him off after 2 games.

There’s no holes to run through how is that a running backs fault?
Oh, the continuity for the offensive line was the cause. He will both improve and start to produce special plays as the offense expands production and integrates much more people and plays. He will at some point, become a special player as well as tool. He has to bake off some of the 'rook' effects.
