Most of the mock drafts I have seen say Derrick Henry is a borderline 1st round draft pick. Why?I watch a ton of college ball and this kid is an absolute beast imo.I would love to see mr.Henry running behind our o-line.

Why?

Because he doesn't have great foot speed. He's straight power and must get moving north quickly or he will be tackled in the backfield.

I think he's like Eddie George. He's not going to juke you. He will run over you if he gets in the clear.

I think he would be perfect for the Cowboys, though. But in the second round.

Trent Richardson really makes the group look bad, but I'd say Ingram was not as good as expected, while Lacy was better than expected.

Ingram has been hurt often, but he never should have been drafted by New Orleans. He needed to go to a run-oriented team.

He is big so in college he has just overpowered LBs and safeties
That won't happen in the NFL
Let someone else take him
I don't want him in rd 1-2
Zeke is better and it's not close

right, but nobody is arguing that. just stating some positives here.

I'll wait on judgement til after the combine. If Henry runs a 4.6 he'll drop.. Plus he has a lot of mileage on those tires. Saban ran him into the ground this year..

that is the one thing that really bothers me about henry is the amount of carries he has this year. I mean look at the way we used murray two years ago and then seen how he played this year. it took its toll on him also Elliot has carried the ball a ton this year too and worry about if that will carry over into his rookie season. saban has a history of running his running backs a lot in there college time and takes away years from there pro years. ingram really had problems his first year after his senior year.

that's actually how I feel. he reminds me of George, big, physical and behind a good o-line he could be a real punisher, but he'll likely be good for a short span. Good pick in round 2, great pick in round 3, but I would not trade down or really even up in the second for him.

He's too big, only has 2 gears, has a TON of miles already, and hasn't even played a pro snap. He's talented, I just don't think he'll do much in the next level, or it will be short lived.

Why do you guys keep saying this?

2013 - 75 carries
2014 - 172 carries
2015 - 339 carries

Ezekiel Elliot

2013 - 30 carries
2014 - 273 carries
2015 - 262 carries

Where is this "ton of mileage"? He's been underused until this season. 339 carries is high, but it's not like he's been ran into the ground for 3 straight seasons.

That sounds like argument against keeping Murray because he had ONE season of an inordinate amount of carries.

I'm just not sure he can be successful in the NFL with his size. Alabama ran him hard this year. I prefer RBs that are a bit shorter and lighter. Give me a 5'11 220lb guy that can get low to the ground and keep his legs churning.

I'd want to see him at least lose a little weight and get a little more wiggle. He seems to have decent vision, but also doesn't seem to get much in terms of yards after contact. When I watch him, I can't help but to think on a lot of his plays "That wouldn't have happened against an NFL defense".

He's averaged 105 yards after contact, not much. Lol

Imo Cook was the best RB this year,i would definitely draft him in the late first RD next year.

I'm taking Henry in the 2nd if he's there. I don't feel we need an RB that is dancing and cutting all over the field. We can use McFadden for that. Behind the o line we have, I think Henry could be just what the dr. ordered to wear out opposing defenses. In the clips I've seen of him, rarely is he ever going backwards.

I think they mean he has actually ran for a ton of miles.

Every 1700 yards or so is a mile and counting the 6 miles he ran for in HS, he has run for over 8 miles.
