I'll have to look into it but it should be the same thing. I thought it was. Perhaps there is a difference.

I thought the MNF guys said that, and I couldn't believe they were correct on it. How the hell do you equate that to throwing a backwards pass? The key is that, in Jackson’s case, the ruling is that he was throwing a backward pass. By rule, the review of the touchdown call resulted in the ball being down where it landed.
Everson24;2264293 said:That is how I understood it as well. It would be just the same as any other fumble recovery after an inadvertant whistle. We could not advance the ball but it would have been awarded to us at the point of recovery. This was changed a couple of years ago. I wish Pac would have picked it up when he ran toward it.
AdamJT13;2264318 said:That's ONLY on plays when they rule down by contact. Jackson was not ruled down by contact. The ball was dead as soon as the whistle blew.

AdamJT13;2264338 said:Nobody said it is different.
AdamJT13;2264268 said:His point was that once the whistle blows, you can't recover any fumble other than one when a runner is ruled down by contact. Jackson wasn't down by contact, so any fumble recovery after the whistle would not have counted.

AdamJT13;2264501 said:No, because they'll say it's a "player safety issue."
