Desperados QB Clint Dolezel is a far better hope for US than Drew Henson

he's already had a shot here with the Cowboys, and he was freaking horrible in TC

he's where he belongs

Yet, you suggest teaching an old arena league QB to be a starting NFL QB......

And contrary to the age old analogy (or is it metaphor?) you can, indeed, teach an old dog new tricks.

We as fan need to stop grasping on straws

Anyone besides me see the irony in this statement?

Using the passing stats of an AFL QB to compare against a NFL QB, and therefore show superiority, is simply asinine.

I think maybe we should seriously think about, signing this guy.He is more accurate and is able to throw in tighter spots than that of Henson.
Competition wise,I would have to say that it is about even, and Clint Dolezel has less room to maneuver around than that of Henson. This guy has a rocket arm and is deadly accurate.
But then again,if they showed the flagfootball games at our local church games,i bet all the fans would be saying how great of a prospect our paster would have been if he would have just tried out.
We as fan need to stop grasping on straws that Henson is going to pan out.You guys are starting to sound like the old Steeler's fans who said,"Just give Kordell Stewart a few more years to develope".I honetly feel that Kordell Stewart would be a better Cowboys prospect than that of Henson.
It's nice to watch somebody from the cowboys play football, but I would much rather watch Irvin pretend to play ball again(Longest Yard),than sit threw an NFLE game and watch Henson struggle.
It is apparent that Parcell's knows that this guy can't play ball.I noticed in the Bears game, that he put Vinny in to secure the deal and get the win.
Then you guys wanna say I am giving up on the guy(Which I allready did)after one game.Well let me say this,"I seen enuff to get my take on this guy and he's terrible".Remember guys,he's the one who gave up on football and you can't teach and old dog new tricks

Dude, what do you have $50,000.00 grand on the line to lose if Henson makes the team.

What are you afraid of boy ?

No doubt there. (although I'm not so sure it's "irony" per se, but I get your point)

Some of these threads can be compared to a car wreck at the side of the road. It's pretty messed up, but more often than not, we'll take a look.

I suppose it's a good reality check, in case I ever overestimate the lowest possible level of intelligence out there in the world.

I don't know much about the guy.........
I do...he won the Arena Football League Championship with the Grand Rapids Rampage back in '02 I think.
He is an AFL QB...no more than that.Has been to camp with the Jaguars, then cut.
The thread starter has nothing better to do I guess.

Dolezel won't be coming to camp. Maybe you don't understand the difference between Arena and NFL.

I cant remember exactly, but it was the early to mid 90's

Thanks. I thought his name sounded familiar when I started watching the AFL in 2000.

Maybe I saw his name while glancing over a training camp roster in the 90s.

That means he would have been in camp with Troy. Troy was in mid-season form when camp started, not surprised QBs of lesser ilk would look like:puke:

See boys and girls, this is a prime example of why you should not get drunk at 7am in the morning and go post on a forum

Hmmm, I guy who could not cut it in the NFL and had to play for the Arena league.....OK, sign him up to be the back up. LOL

most people who hold out hope for Henson are just sticking to their guns... after they lost the Hutch v. Q wars and the Leaf v. Q war... this is their way to say I told u so 3 or 4 years after Q has been gone!

I'm willing to bet those holding out hope for HENSON are the same ones who were blinded by Hutch and Leafs potential or what ever u want to call it!!!

being wrong on those Qb wars the past 4 or 5 years, let alone BASHING Q because of MEL KIPERs distain for Jerry Jones, is not sitting well for cowboy fans who think they know sooo much about football!

granted most have given up on Henson but there r still a few who cant let go!!!

Henson is Hutch and Leaf with a different last name!!!

This is just stupid. Hutch, Carter or Leaf have nothing to do with Henson. Henson will be entering his 3rd season after being away from the game. Anyone with a lick of sense knew this was not going to happen overnight which is why Dallas gave Henson the contract they did to allow him time to develop.

I never cared for Hutch or Leaf, especially Leaf. But I am a Henson backer. My feelings on Henson have nothing to do with Carter or the past, only a hope to regain some of the glory we had in the now distant past. Do I want to be able to say I was right about Henson? Sure I do. Would I like to tell people I pulled for the guy when others had given up on him? Yes. But it has nothing to do with failed projects from the past, because I never thought any of them would amount to anything anyway. And I do believe Henson will be a quality starting QB in the NFL. I really, honestly do.
