I hope the team can handle it psychologically after what Favre did to us, right? ;)

we let them, we played soft zone coverage which gave them everything underneath

which they took

you guys don't get that we're trying to stop the deep pass, look what happened to Favre

regardless, both the skins and pack came very close to taking the lead with the underneath passes.

So the strategy was to let the Commanders hang around and possibly win the game at the end? Yea, Im the dumb one. Seemed to work really well vs Rodgers as well.

How did the strategy work out against Brady?

the strategy was to stop getting beat deep, notice we haven't been behind very often this year because teams have to work for TDs, that strategy can also force QBs to become impatient, see Campbell's game-ending INT, Favre tossing 2 picks

Id hardly call giving up over 220 yards a game, a weak stat. Rodgers, Campbell and Eli all had good games vs our secondary. Even Miami passed for 280 yards vs Dallas, lets not even talk about what Brady did. No way they can beat Indy or NE unless the pass defense gets better.
Once again, i don't give a crap about passing yards. qb rating is much more important.

and we beat Rodgers Campbell and Eli, so I say the strategy did work, now did it?

the soft coverage on defense is like the equivalent of playing martyball on offense

Did the Packers ever have the ball in scoring position to take the lead with Rodgers at the helm? No. They were not close at all.

Good analogy, they are playing not to lose. Good defenses try to dictate to offenses. That is exactly what they did to Favre, then they just backed off. I dont get it.

...and I could have sworn it was our secondary that came up with an INT to ice the Commanders game. What are we talking about again? Oh yeah, Roy Williams sucks, right?

i just wish we wouldn't have some of these scares. when a team is up by 17 at the half, i wish the game would at least stay double digits throughtout and not have the lead cut to 3.

THAT, I'll have to agree with. Not pressuring backup QBs on every play seems almost sacrilegious. We should have been jumping short routes left and right, too.

Except it's not. It's smart fooball. What Wade does is basically require you to throw quick underneath routes. If you try to throw intermediate or long routes they're either (1) going to be covered well, or (2) our passrush is going to get you.

He's betting that you're not good enough to consistently beat us by nickeling and diming it for 4 quarters. So far he's been right 11 times out of 12.

Same old, same old. Our scheme has worked very well thus far and some focus on less relevant stats like yard allowed.

it can all be explained in the simplest terms

taking away the deep ball

Well, it's not just the deep balls. It's the 8-20 yard plays as well.

I understand not giving up the long ball. I understand forcing the defense to make long sustained drives. But did you see some of the 3rd and longs that Campbell was converting to wide open receivers in the middle?

And unfortunately, the one team that he was wrong against most likely stands in our way in the super bowl.

I just don't see how having a 17 point lead cut to 3, and a 12 point lead cut to 5 in the 4th quarter is successful.

I understand what Wade's scheme is doing, I just like it. Teams always seem to be in makable 3rd down situations. Even when they get backed up and have a 2 and 20 say, he drops everyone back and just hands the offense and easy 8 to 12 yards. In doing so he makes it a much easer 3rd conversion.

I guess its working, I just dont like all the easy yards they are giving up every week and I think it could come back to bite them in the butt.

...and by that time, god willing, we will have our two best CB's at 100%. If they are, we likely won't see the same performance by Brady. Having one or both of our starting CB's has been handcuffing us all year.
