Bolded part is the issue. The problem last year was McCarthy. There was zero plans made for Vaughn. None. It's the coaches job to put the players in the best position to succeed. McCarthy and the staff not only failed Deuce, they epically failed him. Same with Luepke and Mazi.

A lot of it was them wanting to feature Pollard who is a somewhat similar player but didn't look healthy for awhile. They also kept running between the tackles when both Pollard & Deuce strengths is going outside. Top that off with the OL run blocking being pretty awful.

Height: weight ratio suggests he has more muscle mass than people may think. If possible I'd like to see him get up to around 185 or even 190. He might be able to develop into a little pinball. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. I want to see him shine in PS against decent players and make the team.
