Deuce Vaughn dealing with hamstring injury

Yes they could have.

They had Kneeland, Beebe, Liufau and Carson higher on the board than RB's when they were on the clock.
I remember the draft day announcement "...the Dallas Cowboys select Marshawn..."
I was already thinking, yeah Lloyd fit the bill for me at RB.
But then, it started, "Knee...land", like slow motion.
Dang! But I'm "all in" on Kneeland. Hopefully, it all works out.

Kneeland went 2nd round pick 56. Lloyd didn't go until the 3rd round pick 88. That would have been a reach to every draft pundit out there.

Luifau went pick 87, along with Kneeland he's also looked great so far.

They were slated to take Brooks, who went to Carolina.
I would've been happy with Lloyd since RB seemed to be a priority. It wouldn't have been considered a terrible reach because of need.
Anyway, like I said I'm fine with Kneeland. At the time, I would've rather had Lloyd. I thought that was clear.
Marist Luifau is my favorite pick of the draft, as I've said before.

Going to be an IR stash this season.
I think this is a real possibility mainly because it's an injury that needs so much time to heal.

Working theory here has been that they were always going to try to see if he and Turpin were interchangeable parts, which explains why Turpin's gotten RB snaps, and Deuce has sometimes lined up in the slot... ie, could Turpin be a good enough RB to open up Deuce's roster slot, and could Deuce be a good enough WR to make Turpin expendable.

People do tend to forget that, even though he made the Pro Bowl, Turpin's numbers for 2023 regressed by quite a bit. Sure, he was hurt and hardly played in 6 games, and otherwise, teams were kicking away from him regularly. To justify his roster slot, they need more overall production in 2024 on both offense and ST. The sense is that the new KO rule will allow that to happen. We'll see. The other thing is, he's 28 now... not old by any stretch, but you start to anticipate in general that players begin losing a step in that age range.

If I'm right, only one of them will make the 53-man, and one month out, Turpin is the leader by default at the first quarter pole. The thought may be, though, to stash Deuce, anticipating that Turpin could very well sustain another shoulder or ankle injury like he did last season.

But the post-mortems for Deuce's Cowboys paycheck has long been premature at best, and better considered nonsense for reasons we've well established over this past off-season.

It looks like they are keeping Zeke, Rico, and Luepke. They like Freeman, but he just pulled a groin. Looks like we will see Davis and Pete in the game this week.

They like Deuce as well, but he will likely go to the practice squad.

Remember when Jerry mentioned how much they liked Brooks before the draft started? Well Carolina did. Lloyd would have been a huge reach at 56.

Thing is, Brooks also would've been a reach at 56.
Good thing Carolina picked him early.
On the NFL Network broadcast, at least one guy thought that they were taking Lloyd after Carolina picked Brooks.

My whole point was I thought, for a moment, they were picking a RB from USC that everyone heard of instead of an unknown DL from Western wherever. And so did other people.

Thank goodness they took the dlineman.

My original comment has been twisted, turned and buried. I don't even care anymore...lol.

Raise your hand if you "knew" the pick was Kneeland.
Now put your hands down you bunch of liars...smh
