On a side note, I hate this whole never give out a number again concept.

If someone makes the ring of honor, jersey isnt available for 5 years.

Make it to the hof, 10 years.

If someone special comes along and retired player is on board, let them wear it.

No retired numbers for Cowboys ever, and I love that about our team. I love the aura around 88, and I’d love to see more of that.

However, Deuce himself said he will not be seen in #22. He said that number won’t be on his back again, so we shall see what number he gets.

It would be disrespectful to him as well.

Vaughn is a 6th round rookie. Let’s keep things in perspective.

He shouldn’t be taking anyone’s number. Just making the 53 would be a huge deal for this guy.
I'm just saying, jersey numbers change all the time. Why not show your new teammate some love by giving him a number that means something.

Typically if a number is changing it’s for a veteran player, and typically that veteran buys the number.

Not that Jordan lewis has a ton of jerseys sitting around but players have to buy all the unsold stock of their jersey when they swap numbers…Highly doubt Lewis will drop a couple 100k to give a 6th round player his number he jumped at as soon as it came open.

Hes not getting 22 and he's not getting 2. No way Lewis gives it up and nor should he.
Hes not had a single practice yet.

God I swear it's Ben Bass all over again.....

88 has been forced on two players so why not 22? And Emmitt is my favorite player of all time.

If emmitt advocated for it I could see it happening. The 88 isn’t just a jerry thing but something Irvin has been advocating for as well.

Can't do it. If anyone ever was to wear that number it would have to be earned with an earth shattering, record breaking season or two.

We should just retire it. If we only retire one number ever that is the one.

I dont believe that record will fall, at least not for several decades and after the league has gone full circle.

Hold up. What? Players have to buy up the stock of their old jerseys with a different number??
