We'll see how sharp he looks once the preseason starts. I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll be able to have an impact this year. Super productive in college and his skill set fits today's NFL like a glove!

Love me some Deuce!!!!

Despite people pretending to know if he can play at his size or not, we do not know. And will not know until the game starts. Hope we get a healthy dose of him in the Pre. He's just fun to watch and root for.

I see him as more of a Christian McCaffrey light type of player. Everyone talking about him not getting many carries or being a lead back or whatever, doesn't realize he was actually a bell cow at Kansas.

Size and all.

Dude is a tough little son-of-a-gun. I knew his dad was a scout for the Cowboys; I just didn't think the Cowboys would draft him, because of our history. I like that they took a different route. It makes us less predictable.

I had the same revelation when we drafted him but I will go one step further....he is one of the best recieving backs I have seen period.

Hands...his routes are great and he goes and gets the ball.

As I said after we drafted him, we stole him.
Yeah. You might be onto something. I can see him getting more reps as a receiver. Like I was saying, sort of a CMC light.

The quickest hook for him will be if he tries that going backwards to go forward that Barry Sanders did because he does not have the moves or quickness that Sanders had, few ever have.

The problem opposing D players will have is finding him at a full 12 inches shorter than the men blocking them. If you watch his highlights closely, you will see that was job #1 for the D players, finding him.

He'd be a complete beast out of the slot.

I'm sure you don't care that the Cowboys have lost 9 of the last 10 games to the Packers. Sure.

I'm sure you don't care that the Packers are the most successful franchise in the history of the NFL. Sure.

The Packers have owned the Cowboys since 1995. Sure you don't care. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Too funny!
Its not that we dont know about the Packers, I imagine some here know more about your Packers than you do.
It just that this a Cowboys forum and a majority here prefer to discuss Cowboys relevant topics, nobody cares about the Packers here as much as you do.
So strange, come to a Cowboys forum to eat your cheese....

Exactly! It would be nice to have most these so-called fans actually pull for the players rather than put them down constantly. On top of having no idea of how the player or players will perform before they play a game! I would love to see what they say if the guy gets in there and lights it up! I trust you will never hear I was wrong......

Several videos floating around. A few of us were talking in the offseason about Gibbs' ability in the passing game. But I didn't realize until we drafted him that Vaughn has just as much receiving ability as Gibbs. It's going to be fun watching him out there if he makes the team, and I think he will.

This is 1. camp and 2. the NFL.

I like the guy, there have been many unheralded players who had amazing careers (Bill Bates, etc.), but excuse me if I don't put a lot of faith in him at this point.

Yep they said these things about Emmitt Smith also. If we are so lucky Deuce would be like him.
And I'm not arguing that DV will be the next Emmitt Smith or anything like that. But there is something to these shorter RBs who have a solid core with a lower center of gravity. They are next to impossible to bring down. They just bounce right off normal tackling techniques. Something just tells me that DV will succeed at avoiding major hits/contacts and slide through places where others can't.
