Everyone is pulling for him, but he’s not going to get near as many touches as fans are hoping for or are predicting he will get this season. Currently he has three backs listed ahead of him. I think he’ll make the team, but he could also end up on the practice squad.

Dude has heart and determination. He isn't harping on his size just maximizing his learning of the game from others. I love this steal of the draft! Maybe at the start of the season or later in his career but this dude will be known around these parts in time. His attitude is glowing and hopefully growing in that locker room. I love positivity coming from Oxnard. He is my pet cat so I'ma all about him.

People reading too much into that depth chart. He has a shot. Here is last year's first team depth chart in TC. You can see that it changed a lot, and they also put a ton of RBs on it with the guy who ended up being the true backup close to Deuce's current position on this year's first depth chart.

The depth chart will change, but I still don’t see him being one of our top two backs entering the regular season.

You don't know what you're talking about. Give the kid a chance to prove himself.

Agree.

No way he makes the cut down.

Even with RJones hurt, there are still two players ahead of him.

I know exactly what I’m talking about and his size will prevent him from being one of our top two backs entering the regular season. Our second back is going to have to be able to push some piles and move the chains in short yardage situations.

The fact that Pollard won't play Saturday and Jones is out might mean we see quite a bit of him for this game. I would think Dowdle gets the first quarter and maybe slightly into the second. Davis gets the second and part way into the third. And Vaughn gets the rest.

It's up to him to move up in the pecking order.

Lol, that first depth chart means next to nothing. They listed the backs by their time in the league.

I don’t know how good Vaughn will be in the NFL… but where some guy put him in the initial depth chart isn’t indicative of a thing.

Let me be clear, I think he’ll make the 53, but he could also end up on the practice squad. With the big deal the Cowboys made drafting him they’re going to give him an opportunity for at least one season. Jerry will see to it they find a role for him. I’m surprised he wasn’t listed as one of our KO returners. They may have some gadget plays for him.

I liked Shampklin last season but he got hurt and was let go. The Colts picked him up but he couldn't latch on there. Maybe they can bring him back for a looksie.

:facepalm: :facepalm::facepalm:

Some people should do some research before continuing to post/believe Deuce Vaughn is not highly in the Cowboys' offensive plans.

Dude won't even make the roster
I think he will but it’s going to come down to how he performs in preseason. If he struggles to make any plays he could end up on the bubble. With the big deal the team made drafting him I think they (Jerry) wants to give him every opportunity to find a role on the team.

I would think we’ll see a lot of Vaughn in preseason, especially in the last preseason game.

I‘ve seen Deuce play against some really good college defenses, many with multiple NFL draft picks. Anyone see what he did to Ala last year in the Sugar Bowl? He had 133 yds against Ala including an electrifying 88 yd TD run. In the second half he didn’t do as much because his team was forced to throw.

Look, I get it he’s small. But he’s always been a guy who was way better than people a lot bigger than him. Maybe he won’t be much. I understand why he’s underestimated. But I can see this guy being a good spot player in certain situations. He’s not just a little guy. He’s a football player who happens to be small.
