Did you ever watch KState play?
I’ve never watched KState it isn’t the NFL. I could care less what a player did in college. Why was he a sixth round pick? Is it because none of the NFL scouts watched KState?

I think you should take a little time and go on you tube and watch you some Deuce Vaughn.

I’ve seen plenty of his highlights here. If you ran our draft, he would’ve been our first or second round pick. Lol

You are going to be happy with our 6th round pick. Trust me.

Well, I hope I end up as thrilled as you are with him and if I’m not, I’ll be getting back to you and see if you’re still feeling good about him.

They’re not about to use him as a third down back, unless it’s a third and long and they want to get him out in the flat. He definitely won’t be reliable as a third down back at his size. Even Pollard has had some issues on third down over his career. You need someone with some size who can lower their head and push defenders back.
He doesn’t need to drive people back, he just needs to learn how to cut block the end man on the LOS in 6 man protection. Anyone of any height can do that

On third down you need someone who can move the chains. You can’t be dancing around back there especially if it’s short yardage. Third, and depending how much will be the deciding factor if he gets used on third down. His blocking ability will also play a part on how much he gets used. McCarthy has already stated they’re going to ask more from their backs as blockers this season.

Call me on what? How many 5’5” RBs have flourished in the NFL? Can you provide a list of those? Everyone keeps bringing up what he did in college. He was a sixth round pick for a reason and he was our second sixth round pick. We’ll see how it plays out for him this season, but it’s silly continuing to argue about it.
This is easier to explain,

so we can end this debate there aren't a lot of 5 foot 5 running backs who ever make it out of high school, let alone big time colleges, and get into the NFL.....;)

therefore it's too small a sample size to even have this debate,

some dudes are just special ,some guys are built for the sport that they play even if they're stature says they aren't. Again, we've gone over this with guys like Nate Robinson, mugsy bogues ,and spud Webb in basketball, they never made any sense but it happened.. So given there isn't a lot of examples it's only because there aren't a lot of special players like deuce Vaughn. we could just go back to Darren Sproles as somewhat of an example this kid comes from a sports family, he seems very mature ,he seems very calm, and he's also a very good player it does not matter that we don't have enough examples because there aren't any...

So letys not even worry about, it let's see what happens.. In my opinion he's going to contribute to this team it won't be as a three down starting NFL back, this is the new NFL running back by committee and if this man can get through the Big 12 and he's not injury prone and he's played well in big games against Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, and he was the MVP against TCU who was undefeated, he basically ruined their season.. they didn't get the Big 12 championship or the national championship but they played in it, he was one of only three players at Kansas State that had over 5000 scrimmage yards in the school's history. He also has the most receiving yards of all the backs who were drafted this year as well as top 5 in scrimmage yards, if that doesn't tell you enough that there's no need to compare him to bigger backs.

there's no need to find smaller backs as examples, he is a one off one-of-a-kind and there's no need to over debate this.
let's just see what happens again for the final time we're in a running back by committee type NFL right now.. they will use three or four running backs as opposed to 1 and then one to bring in as a change of pace.. that the old way, he can fit in today's NFL if he's not overused and being the fact that we got him what in the sixth round, I don't even remember now, it doesn't matter there's no expectations if he provides anything more than what we got from guys like Dunbar, and white coming out of the backfield they were supposed to do that Jet sweep , end arounds type stuff he can do more than them we've already seen it.. He can come into games and not key the play coming giving he can run any pay yet has that small back skillset to make some big plays.

I don't think you're allowed to do that anymore anything at the line of scrimmage or behind you're not allowed to go low I mean maybe I misinterpreting the rule but I don't think he can do that anymore.. But we don't need him to be blocking that much if he just gets in the way long enough I mean here's the problem I mean we need our offensive line and our tight ends to block better so we're not dependent on our running backs to be blockers all the time..

100%.. But backs will need to be able to at least get in the way of blitzers. I think Vaughan can do that. You don't want him doing it 15-20 times a game like they used to do with Zeke but I think he's fine throwing his body into blitzers 2-3 times a week. For those who keep posting that they just need to automatically throw the ball to Vaughan on a swing or dumpoff instead of asking him to block .. uh no.. You can't telegraph your intentions like that. And what if it's 3rd and 20? You really gonna make a pass 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage your automatic read on 3rd and long?

I totally get that but there's ways you can scheme the blocking as to where he's doing more chipping on his way out. I mean you're right get in the way he's not always going to be a gimmick guy the guy can run between the tackles and off tackle we've seen it but the blocking sure he is small for that but I'm sure there's a way around it... I mean Tony pollard's not stellar and blocking either

I mean he may be a little bit better than he used to be but he's definitely not Elliott everyone's comparing the guy Zeke and that's just not possible. zeke was big strong and he loves the block that's the difference. He took pride in blocking and he had the skill set to do it there aren't many backs in the league that can block like that.

If I was a 4th string looking to remain on the team, I would learn to kick field goals lol.

Deuce is going to be the 2nd back. Pretty much no doubt about it.
