IF Dallas would use him in the passing game he would help this team.
That’s one area he might provide some plays. His best chance of getting free is out in space as a receiver. He needs some room.

I see him in a similar way to Sproles. He's not a run up the middle back. But you can use him for things like extended handoffs through screen passes. Get him the ball away from the DEs, and he can get a lot of yards.
I believe the only similar thing anyone is seeing between Vaughn and Sproles is size.

That's it.

.. just don't give him ball up the middle for hope of small gain.
Short passes and bubble screens.

You are correct to a point. However if the defense knows you are never going to run a guy up the middle they will overplay the outer edges and minimize his effectiveness. So you have to sacrifice one of two plays into the teeth of the defense in order to create those outside opportunities.
Yes, but we sacrifice 10 plays and then run one outside.

Whatever plan they had for Deuce entering the season went out the window when the offense got off to a slow start. Once we became a passing team that eliminated him from the equation. One of the last times I remember him getting some snaps at RB he missed a block that almost got our QB killed. He can’t block which is one reason he’s not seeing the field. When he’s had opportunities to run the ball he’s averaging under 2.0 a carry.
Most of those carries have come, though, with us holding a big lead and the defense geared up to stop the run to try to get the ball back. When he got some meaningful snaps against the Jets, with the first-team line still in there, he had a 13-yard run and an 11-yard catch.

I don't think we've seen enough to establish what he can or can't do. Obviously, there are some physical limitations he has to overcome, but making a couple of plays against the Jets defense when the game was still on the line isn't a a bad thing.

Break it down for us, Rambo.

Breakdown Vaughn's game compared to Spoles and don't bring up size a single time.

Educate us.
How about you go watch? You watched exactly 0 Kstate games. You don't know anything. You just run your anti Cowboy mouth.

Amen, they absolutely have to get the kid the ball in space to take advantage of what he can do. Most of the runs he has had early in the season have been plunges up the middle late in games when the defense knows we're running it up the gut. I would never expect great results under those circumstances. Especially while the line is losing at 3/5 of its positions.
They need him to get out in space to relieve pressure on the Oline too.

I think there is potential in Luepke and Deuce that we haven't tapped into yet.

I could be wrong. Maybe I'm overrating both but I'd bet on it.

Guys like Dowdle and Davis I have no use for. They're roster fillers.
Love it when you get liquored and post.
