In 1993 Jimmy Johnson drafted a one dimensional, return man in Kevin Williams in the 2nd round, which was also Dallas' top pick. I didn't like the pick at the time and would not like Hester in the 2nd round this year either. I would like to see the Cowboys block better on punt returns. There seems to be someone on top of the return man each time. Hester had nothing but green on his return against the Cards. He is a good return man and when he gets good blocking like that, it will result in big returns.

That's the one aspect that many seem to forget, when it comes to STs. Of late we have been a great kickoff and punt coverage team, but sorely lacking in the blocking department. Go back and look at tape of Green and the moves and quickness this kid has in the open field. Give him a bit of wiggle room and he'll be fine. It doesn't seem to matter who we put back there (including Newman) because they aren't getting the (typically one) critical block(s) needed to bust something open.

the problem with fasano is that people expect mark bavaro. same with carp. everyone expects randy white-chuck howley-ring-of-honor-type numbers. both guys are ok and will be around for a long time.

That's "people's" problem, not fasano's. I haven't looked up bavaro's numbers after 5 games but I'll take a chance and suggest they weren't much.
