non issue here. He was not beating anyone else out here and not going with 6 WRs
If you draft a guy....that cannot get open on his own.....well guess what....the coaching staff should SCHEME him open....we don't do that! But I digress!!!
Watch him now catch 50 balls for 700 yds and 8 TDs and become a mainstay in the Pats' offense and a new found fave of Brady. Seriously, if he goes elsewhere and produces to the level that we've seen Marty B do or even Andre Holmes (just to call out a couple of examples in recent years) I think this will be another huge indictment of the coaching staff. Players not producing here after several seasons and then doing it elsewhere once we cut them loose has been a troubling trend. Will be interesting to monitor.
what team schemes to get a slow, tall and marginally talented receiver open, when there happens to be 4 better options on the roster? If you draft a guy....that cannot get open on his own.....well guess what....the coaching staff should SCHEME him open....we don't do that! But I digress!!!
Give me a team who schemes to get a slow, tall receiver open? Who happens to have no nfl talent
They did it with 2 short receivers who don't have the greatest NFL skillset.
your point?
I'm stealing that when I get home. lolDevin Street?
Let's just see if they can find a way to extract something from him that we couldn't.
If they somehow manage to achieve success in doing so, then congratulations are in order.
If you draft a guy that can't get open on his own then he isn't worth scheming to get open. You scheme to get someone open when they're being double or triple teamed. NFL wide receivers are expected to win one on one match ups.
That aside, the problem is that Street was open plenty of times and dropped the ball or was too scared to make the play.
I added more...Just pointing out the obvious.
if he had all those traits before we drafted him....WHY did we draft him?what team schemes to get a slow, tall and marginally talented receiver open, when there happens to be 4 better options on the roster?
The playbook and tendencies of the Cowboys of this year. They're prepping for the SB.
