I receiver stretching out to catch yet another inaccurate Jason Campbell pass. Imagine that.

Those rookies better get used to it. Commander receivers have to contort their bodies in all sorts of unnatural positions to try to get a hold of Campbells errant throws. That's just the way it is. Anything beyond 5 to 10 yards and those receivers have to put their bodies on the line in an attempt to make their QB look good. That's how it rolls in DC.

Those receivers better do a lot of stretching before getting on the field with Quincy Jr.

I was at camp this morning, and the play happened right by me. I must say, it did not look good to me. He was running a go patter in 11 on 11 drills and JC threw the deep ball. Thomas dove and tried to adjust to it came up lame. He looked to be in agony on the ground. He tried to get back up but fell down. The cart came and drove him off, and he threw a towel over his head as if he thought is was really bad. I honestly thought he tore something.

If he just pulled something, it is a lot better then I imagined.

I read the other day that the Commanders do position drills first then stretch. Is that accurate? The reason I ask is because Jerry ripped Brian Stewart a new one last year after Hatcher pulled a hammy because he didn't stretch first. Just curious.

I couldn't tell you. I got there 15 minutes late today, so practice was already started when I arrived.

Is he going to be OK?

As much as I hate our rivals, the most gut-wrenching thing to see in pro sports is injuries, regardless of who the player is.

I tore my hamstring playing football.

It's bad news.

I swear I thought someone shot me. I heard a loud pop and I immediately dropped to the ground.

Couldn't walk etc.

The whole back of my leg was black and blue for a month or so. Was on crutches for a month. Couldn't really start running for about 2 months and when I did, I couldn't go full bore for a few months.

Burst of speed - forget about it. Losing your wheels isn't a good thing for an athlete.

Hope this isn't as bad...

I don;t think it's going to be an extended time -- but a rookie missing anytime is never good.

YOU HAVE TO BE ******* KIDDING ME!!!:bang2:

Thats probably better than the Eagles have it with their WR pick...

ESPN said:
Here's how my friend Sal Paolantonio (even though he insists on calling me Mark) described the play:

"And McNabb dropped back five steps and fired a laser -- definitely no sign of any lingering tendinitis in his throwing shoulder -- across the middle to rookie second-round pick DeSean Jackson.

Diminutive Jackson was unprepared for McNabb's velocity, and the ball caromed off the rookie's shoulder pads. McNabb looked away, less than pleased."

The good news is that McNabb appeared to have his arm strength back. The bad news is that he'll need to lob balls to Jackson in the future.

Well if the Cowboys are God's team then with all these injuries, what does that make the Commanders in the Almighty's eyes? I shudder at the thought.

Pulled hammy, ouch... Yeah the conditioning coach should be fired...:laugh2:

I've been saying that for some time about the Rangers pitching coaches and trainers. I think they've set some type of injury record for a pitching staff and we just past mid season. :bang2:

This is what I read in one of the daily recaps from JimmiJo on ES.

The practices under Zorn are longer than under Gibbs and the order of drills and such is different. When I first walked out the team was doing squad drills. They then went to stretching (something always done first in front of the media under Gibbs). After that teams and then more squad drills.

I know everyone was very concerned on here, and I appreciate the warm sentiments. :D

For those interested, per Commanders.com:

As a result of the injury, Thomas could miss the Commanders' Hall of Fame Game against the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 3.

He could be ready by mid-August and available to play on Aug. 9 against Buffalo.
