That's pretty impressive. Did you know that in 2004 the Saints traded 2 #1 picks (which we got for Ricky Williams) to trade up and pick Newman. Instead we picked fat arse DT Jonathan Sullivan who is now out of football.

UNREAL. We know about Newman.
Yes, but can you beat Newman? Probably not, I doubt it will even be tried.

Are Horn and Colston (sp?) definitely out?

Ya I agree SaintsFan...Henderson is a gamer.

Too bad he's most likely gonna lie up against Newman. Henderson's a good player but, Newman will completely shut him down.

Don't peak in the backfield and he will be fine. Henderson will have him 40 yards down the field before the screen pass hits Bush and he runs to pay dirt, and I'd be worried about the half back pass this week too.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that's because they(Hurd & Crayton) play different positions...
Crayton is the number three guy and Parcells justified starting Hurd in place of Glenn on account that it is easy to throw Crayton from a rhythm so he didn't want him switching gears when he was just now starting to come on in his rightful position. Parcells calls Crayton a mentally fragile player who takes a while to get started. He didn't want him grasping a different position for a week in detriment to his own progress.

You have 130 or so posts on this forum in two days, must be a record for a trolling opposing team fan.

Wow. I've finally achieved something in life. Thanks to all who helped me reach this outstanding accomplishment.

Anthony Henry and Terrence Newman have to be like kids in a candy store thinking about that matchup

Henderson is on the verge of becoming a great 2nd or 3rd receiver and Copper was yet another Dallas castoff that has benefitted from our coaching staff....of course having the best QB in the league has helped their development as well.

Horn has a torn groin muscle... out 2-3 weeks.
Coltson is doubtful. Has a high ankle sprain and hasn't praticed yet.
Also our starting TE Ernie Cronwell is out.
Starting DE Will Smith is out.
Starting DT Hollis Thomas suspended.
RB Reggie Bush Hurt shoulder and bruised ribs probable.

Yeah we would be so much better if Copper, Fujita and Shanle were on our team :laugh2:

The one thing that DOES concern me about playing the Saints is the number of trick plays that Payton will run, esp. vs. our FS. I would expect several flea flickers, etc.

Setting up the excuses already I see.

Copper wasn't so much a castoff as he was not a priority. Linebacker depth mattered and Parcells kept the six receivers on the roster better than he so he couldn't justify keeping a seventh. He was a good special teams player. Romo threw touchdown passes to him in preseason. Miles Austin and Sam Hurd beat him out for his job, he wasn't a castoff. If Dallas could keep 54 players he'd still be here.

so the answer to the question was yes - they do play different positions...

:laugh2:

either way, Devery Henderson ain't no joke and we need to be prepared to play vs him... although i feel VERY good about Newman neutralizing him.

Copper doesn't worry me nearly as much as Henderson. Copper is their possession guy right now, who loves to fumble and drop balls... Devery Henderson can burn you deep w/ the quickness...

I watched the Saints vs. Ravens game earlier this season sitting here in the UK (had no other choice :D ), and what the Ravens defense did vs. Bush (which was part of the gameplan according to the announcers) was hit him on every play. Whether he was blocking for Brees, going to go out and run a pattern, etc. Basically, just keep on hitting him every play regardless.

It seemed to have worked.

Nobody in New Orleans is laughing. Thank you very much.

In fact Fujita is playing really well.

Indirectly yes but mostly due to Crayton's slow grasp of multiple positions. I hope you do see this because Crayton wants to be a starter one day but because he is not apparently a quick learner (I'm not calling him stupid) he has remained firmly as the number three even when he is clearly a better and more experienced receiver than Hurd in the Arizona example or if Glenn or TO should be injured.

They weren't trash, there was just no more room at the inn. Bradie James and Akin Ayodele or Scott Fujita and Scott Shanle, hmmm let me think.
