So in your mind a contract only works to the teams benefit?
Yes, it is clearly to the teams benefit to pay 1 player 13 million dollars in 1 year

Because they signed a contract with that person and uh because the person was injured performing a duty for said team.
Do you really not understand that.
"Bryant changed to Condon and Roc Nation's Kim Miale in November and there have been few discussions since."
This is from an ESPN article. I've suspected all along RN was behind the contract holdup with Dez. More evidence that's the case.
I say we give him $100 million per year for 5 years and $40 mil guaranteed.
He deserves a fair wage, he should be paid as a top 5 receiver easily and should have a similar contract to Fitzgerald or Megatron but he should also consider that he is hurting the team if he financially straps them. His real money will come from endorsements and such should the team win a Super Bowl or two because of his help. If he takes it all, that ain't happening. Need money for other players too..the answer is in the middle.
That is why I say "Don't sign such a one-sided contract".
Dallas is being cautious because of Dez' behavior history, but it applies to injuries as well.
But Dez wants everyone to just forget about all of his off field issues.
What does that have to do with anything said here.Yes, it is clearly to the teams benefit to pay 1 player 13 million dollars in 1 year
Dez is free to not sign the contract

And yet people are freaking out when he might do exactly that.

I don't understand why the Cowboys or any other team should be on the hook for multiple or guaranteed seasons if a player gets hurt. It kills the team against the cap and the team still has to replace the injured star.
Dez has made 11.8m so far, is due 12.8m this year as soon as he signs and has probably made another 20m off the filed with endorsements. Feeding his family and security was taken care of a long time ago.
That darn Bryant. Why won't he just sign for cheap to help the billionaire owner bail himself out of bad contracts he is now paying for?
Honestly, I feel a little bad that everyone on the Cowboys end, management and coach included, is leveraging his passion for football and are making it out that he would be the bad guy if he lets his teammates down.
I have little doubt it will eventually happen, but to watch people start to pick a side is amusing to say the least.
So who pays the player to honor the contract?

Dez should get his value, yeah.
And no one really knows what they're debating right now, of all we can be sure is one side is too high and the other is too low.
You don't really "know" if they're leveraging his passion, this is just business, it happens every offseason basically, it's just getting ridiculous publicity because it's Dez and the Cowboys. CLICKS CLICKS CLICKS CLICKS. Off topic, it's a little amusing to me that you literally haven't heard a peep from the Thomas camp, it just shows how much more awesome we are than Denver in the grand scheme of things.
How many players have sat out regular season games over a franchise tag dispute? I don't know off the top of my hand, but i'd wager not many at all. That, in itself, kinda makes you look like the bad guy because it's hardly precedented.
When you say "Dallas is making it out like he'd be the bad guy if he let his teammates down", that conclusion has been derived directly from him and his agent's mouth. Dallas hasn't said anything on record regarding that. If he's getting a perception of being a bad guy, he should probably just tell his agent to shut up because he's the only one talking.
