Dez Bryant Is Finally Entering The Elite Category

That was a fun thread wasn't it?

:laugh2:

Hell yeah....

I need Zrinkill to revive it......so all the pretenders today are aired out.

Maybe I'm being a homer, but I think Dez can be the best receiver in the league. Yes, as in #1. He has the talent. It's up to him to produce and I think he can and will.

Numbers are a little inflated by that one huge pass
, but that still gets me excited. He just racks up the touchdowns. I feel like he could have at least two a game if we wanted him to. I guess that's the definition of unstoppable.
Not sure what this means. Dez made the play so what the heck was inflated about his numbers.

i don't understand the word "finally" in the thread title.

he didn't play his final year in college and he came into the NFL with minimal study habits. i think he's actually EARLY on his quest to being an elite receiver...it's only his third year.

Aren't White / Jones still leading Dez / Austin in combined receptions and yards?

The fact is Dez ****'s on Roddy, anybody who would take Roddy over Dez just does not know football

Julio, I still believe is close to Dez's level.....

Now that Dez has turned it on, I would take him over Julio.....but I wouldn't cry if I had to take Julio either.

Yes, Yes, I agree with you on Dez over Roddy White...

However, is anything really changed with the basic premise of that original thread? White / Jones > Dez / Bryant?

Statistically that seems to have beared itself out this season -- the Atlanta duo leads in yards and receptions. The Dallas duo does have a 1 TD lead however.

I don't know. It was never my fight. I think some people just naturally can't stand anyone on this football team despite being fans.

I'd take our WRs over those 2 and over the Giants WRs too, and it is entirely about the ceiling for Dez more than anything else. But I remember posters saying Dez was nowhere near as good as Nicks.

I disagreed then, and I really disagree now.

Right Now?

Like I said, in the start of that thread once Miles and Dez shake off the slow start, I would take them all day.....

They have, at least Dez has, and what he is doing Is making up for any mistakes Miles might make.

I would Take Dez/Miles....Simply because Dez is like 2 WR's

Not sure how you can make that definitive statement.

Jones missed his rookie offseason due to the lock out. The guy who considered raw as heck coming out of Alabama where they didn't throw the ball much. His 2nd season (this year) is superior to Dez's second season. Is there any reason to believe Jones doesn't take it to the next level in his 3rd season like Dez has? Or is that type of leap only possible for Cowboys WRs?

So then the stats don't bear this out. The fact is White, and I don't remember if Jones joined in the yuck fest, laughed this off when in reality it is much closer than you or they realized it would be.

Every player missed the offseason due to the lock and he still had an offseason even if it was minimal. Dez has missed seasons due to injury. It's not an excuse for Dez and it shouldn't be for Jones.

I agree with you it's real close. The falcons due have a slight lead this year but it wouldn't shock me at all to see the Cowboys duo have better production next year.

The ceilings on both Dez Bryant and Julio Jones are so fricking high it's really hard to project how this these two duos do statistically vs one another next year.

I like Jones but he isn't or hasn't emerged as a true number one like Kez has. It's much easier for Jones to sit there when the defense is focused on White/Gonzales. Dez on the other hand is the number one focus for the other teams defense and still coming out on top. I would like to see Jones when he doesn't have Roddy White on the other side and he is the number 1 option.

Not an excuse for Jones. All I am saying is Jones outperformed Dez Bryant last year and he was a rookie.

This year Jones is having a 2nd season that is a superior to Dez's second season.

In summary -- it's not a foregone conclusion that the Dallas Duo is superior next year because if he Jones continues his career track, he'll be right there with Dez next season and clearly Roddy White is superior to Austin.

I would say Dez is the best receiver out of the group of ATL and DAL receivers, but the ATL duo of Jones/White is better than the duo of Dez/Austin.
