Romo and Dez didnt have great chemistry off the bat either, I remember reading multiple reports about their offseason workouts together to get in sync. Dak and Dez will be fine, they just gotta work on that aspect. Once that happens, it adds a whole new element to our offense.I think Dez was the most disappointed of all the players to see Romo passed over mid season. Dez probably expected to have Romo for several more years. They had real chemistry but I think Dak and he will mesh well.
Better get used to it Dez, not going to be seeing as many jump balls anymore. Your role has changed.
Dak will work on that. It's one of Dez's best strengths, Dak will get better at throwing the fade to him in the end zone.
He'll be seeing some fades but not as many down the field contested jump balls. Dak isn't going to take as many chances as Romo, he throws to the open receiver. Dez needs to work on his route running and getting open.
Agreed, which is why Beasley had so much success. But Dez will get plenty of chances to highpoint the ball and go get it. It's his best strength, and you play to your strengths.
Dez won't say it but he would rather have Romo at QB. He knows he's not going to be as productive with Dak.
You could be right but....
Take away the 3 games last season that Dez only had one catch which they were obviously not on the same page and count the remaining 9 games only factored into a 16 game season and Dez would've had a career season (not counting the weeks he missed or the Eagles game). I did the math in another post but I believe it would've been over 1300 yards and 20 touchdowns if I remember correctly.
Obviously, that's funny math but it goes to show the potential is there for big things if Dez stays healthy and doesn't put up 3 duds next season.

Dez will still get his #'s, he just won't be able to take off as many games.....no more 8 targets/0 catch games if he wants to maintain his stats.Better get used to it Dez, not going to be seeing as many jump balls anymore. Your role has changed.
Dak is going to play to his strength and that's throwing to the open receiver and avoid mistakes. For Dez to be real productive you have to take some chances and throw the ball up to him allowing him to make a play. Dak will take more chances next season but it's never going to be like it was with Romo for Dez because Dak isn't a gunslinger.
Dak is going to continue to target Beasley and Witten a lot because they get open, they're chain movers. The chemistry did improve some between Dez and Dak as the season went on last year and I expect it to continue to improve but with Dak at QB Dez's role has changed. He has to make the most of every target he gets.
His role hasn't changed at all. He's the big play guy and TD scorer. Same as always. Targets will go down some, his role remains the same.
His role has changed with Dak taking over at QB and the emergence of Beasley. Dez himself last season said his role has changed. He was our go to receiver under Romo, he targeted Dez a lot even when he wasn't open. He gave Dez many jump ball and fade opportunities. Listen to the video Dez said Romo made him and gave Romo a lot of credit. Dez was our third leading receiver last season. Granted he missed some games due to injury but he's not going to get as many jump ball opportunities as he once did. Look at his numbers the past two seasons without Romo.
