This is perhaps the most "pick your poison" offense in the league when healthy. Even more so than Denver.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. The Broncos' TE is more of a scoring threat than Witten. Dez is slightly better than DeMaryious Thomas, Wes Welker is better than Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders and Terrence Williams are a push.

The comments by Dez are something special. he wants the ball, but he wants to win and will root for his teammates when they foolishly single up TWill.

This is a maturity the league didn't suspect. Jerry took a chance with all the rumors and crap about Dez-wan.

I whine about Jerry but this was a great pick.

I like Dez's attitude, but a receiver wanting the ball more isn't that unusual. Irvin, Cris Carter, Jerry Rice, TO - all the greats - wanted the ball more. So even when Dez was complaining, I didn't think it was that big a deal. I put more responsibility on the quarterback. The quarterback - in our case, Romo - should take what the defense gives and shouldn't be throwing to a receiver just because he complains.

Unlike Calvin..... teams would rather fall on their own sword then leave this guy 1 on 1.

Unlike Calvin Johnson? If it were between Dez and Calvin and a team could double only one of the two, 9 out of 10 teams would choose Calvin to double over Dez. That's not a knock on Dez because he's approaching greatness. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Calvin is still considered more dangerous than Dez. He consistenly sees double teams - if a team isn't stupid - because he really has no one opposite him, unlike Dez. The Lions' mistake is not surrounding him with talent in the receiving corp. Maybe it's the backlash from drafting all those receivers who bombed, but if Detroit had a competent receiver opposite Calvin, that offense would be scary.

Dez is a competitor. He just wants to win. He wants his teammates to get the ball at his expense . . . oh, hail, he is just talking.

so now he nos he will never get his 2,000-yard season so he say, he say to opponents, "key on me and Murray will burn you!" Then he say, he say "Hey, if you single coverage Williams (and not me) he will make you pay!

Next week it will be, he will say: "Key on me and Witten will get 300 yards!"

Just shut up and play good, Dez. You werre not hired to talk though you are eloquent and stuff (no, he is not). Concentrate on yer own play and become the primary receiver you are paid to be without using murray or williams as stalking horses.

(damn, I am good)

Speaking of eloquence....this post is almost indecipherable in meaning. I think it's a critique of Dez. Which would be stupid to do. Given that he is a top 5 WR in this game. Right now. And is a better receiver today than he was last year. Routes and run blocking have improved.

In part, through the attention he receives and the blocking he does downfield, he is almost as big a part of what Murray is able to do. This team knows that. Defensive coordinators know that.

He will be paid. Not Calvin money. But he'll be up there.

In a thread of Dez throwing props to his teammates for their performance on the field? Certainly not.

Guys like you who have made a Zone living on beating up the Cowboys performance on the field...are...really....grasping...for...straws.

"Yeah the team is winning...but....umm....DEZ stop hyping up your teammates!'

Go sit in the corner.

While Dez has the edge, over DT it's not by much. More like a 9.5 Rating vs a 9.3

I respectfully disagree. I think Demaryius Thomas is good but by no means can he do the things that Dez Bryant does nor does he command the type of attention that Dez Bryant does. Nobody is rolling coverage to Thomas all game long, and nobody is double-press-covering Thomas like the Titans did to Dez, either.

Welker vs Cole? Not even close. Welker by a mile

Sure. But would Welker even make this roster? Maybe as a WR3. At this stage of his career, with his concussion issues and dropped passes, he's not as reliable nor nearly as dangerous as he once was.

Sanders vs Williams? Williams has work to do, it's not close either.

Push at best. I wouldn't take Emmanuel Sanders over Terrance Williams in Dallas.

J.Thomas vs Witten? Witten can get you the 1st down's and do things that vets do, but from a skill stand point, and play making, Thomas by a mile.

I prefer tight ends that do everything and block for the running game than guys who don't. After what you've seen this year would you still take Jimmy Graham "by a mile" over Jason Witten? I wouldn't, and I don't care how good of a pass catcher Graham is. Witten is the better all-around tight end.

Ball vs Murray? Murray all the way

Glad you're sensible, lol.

Peyton vs Romo? I mean really? Romo is good....Peyton is great. The gap is closed a little due to our O-Line, and Linehan.

Peyton Manning is obviously the better quarterback.

Overall they are the better team.

I don't think so at all.

Maybe I worded it wrong. Sorry.

I meant to say Dez is not Calvin, where teams would just double or triple you all day, and not care about anything else.

Offensive line or Not.

Let Dez go down, Romo can have all the time he wants it won't matter. Teams will load vs Murray, then what?

Kill teams to death with Cole, and his 5 yard out's? Williams and his body Catches? Who's just now learning to try to catch with his hands, but still looks awkward. Witten? Street, and Harris?

You realize teams have been loading 8 and 9 in the box against Murray since Week 2 and he's still running all over them?

It was actually hilarious to see the Saints do it, since Rob Ryan was probably talking all kinds of trash all week in practice and they got dominated, lol.

It's not consistent though. Without Dez it would be even worse.

4 weeks in a row in a class of only two other backs to rush for 100+ four opening weeks in a row isn't consistent enough for you bro?

:-\ might need to tell you to get an RPG for that computer...... LOL

It's just a term. The point is he hit a wall in the second half of the season if you would like to be more literal.

In the first half of the season he had 26 receptions for 444 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In the second half of the season he has 18 receptions for 292 yards and 1 td.

So far through 4 games however he is on pace for a half season that looks like

28 receptions, 358 yards, 8 tds

the touchdowns look impressive, but we still need a lot more from him in terms of yards and receptions. Hopefully with Romo getting healthier we see that from him.

Williams should get about 100-120 targets for the season. Right now he is only on pace for 80... It's not enough.

He doesn't need more targets. Not if we keep running the ball effectively.

Uh no.....not even close.

The only thing we have over Denver, Is a Better WR Dez vs Their Wr's(DT is super close though)

And a better RB, by a mile.

They have way more weapons, and a hall of fame QB. More Weapons+Better QB. Wins Every time

But we are deadly.

Yea that's a bit extreme. We have the better running game and the better #1 but the Bronco's are still the most deep and potent O in the league. Bears as well. I think we're top 5 though. If not now, we're on the outside of the top 5.

Hmmmm...interesting take.

A dominate run game, that controls the clock, isn't going to beat a lot of good teams?

I guess the Seattle Seahawks of today, the Steelers during their day, and the Cowboys of the 90's should all be informed that they didn't beat too many good teams by being dominate in the run game.

You're forgetting a huge factor, which is a dominant defense...

Guy wants to win bad!

On Talkin Cowboys they were saying after being around the team this year there are two guys who keep talking about wanting to win more than any others. Romo and Witten.

I think they hear Father Time not too far away.

Seeing as they are the eldest, I'd hope there is a fire under their behinds.
