Just wanted to remind people calling Dez a scrub, that Dez is the Dallas Cowboys all time TD leader for receiving.

Yes his last few years have less than ideal and yes his contract is pretty high but the guy still got 900 yards with Daks crappy season.

Dez was a total beast from 2012- 2014...especially 2014
But although he was still only 27,28,29 years old in the following thee years, his numbers dropped off of a cliff.
What changed?
If we are honest, I think we know.

Antonio Brown on the other hand.
Same age and years played.
No drop off.
What didn't change?

I like Prescott just fine. And I'm pulling for him big time to recover in 2018.

But Daz has >1200 yards and .12 TDs this year with his QB from 2014.

All dream world anyway, so irrelevant at this point.

I don't think so. He lost his explosiveness.

HE got 838 yards and only 6 TDs. Granted some of this is on Dak, but the bottom line is what he was doing in 2011 through 2014 is only history. Somehow he and Dak have to find a way to get more out of the relationship.

Dez was never that good. Romo made Dez. TO made a lot of QBs with superb separation. Dez can't separate.

He has 17 TDs the last 3 years with Romo, Dak, Weeden Cassel, KMoore and Rush rotating in

I think lots of WR’s would have matched or surpassed those stats with the insane amount of targets he received.

Julio Jones also has 17 TDs the last 3 years with 10 more games and 180 more targets

what have you don't for me lately? don't let the past remind us of what we are not now. makes no sense to pay for past performances. those are rewarded by accolades and the roh. football is about fait accompli.

Every year from now until at least the next 10 years, Witten will still be the Dallas Cowboys all time leader for receiving yardage.

Does that mean he should remain their TE for at least the next 10 years?

lets stop he dropped off a cliff BS..look at his stats not his drops a lot of highly targeted WRs drop more passes, its a fact thrown at more most likely to drop more, and some of those targets most likely 10% range weren't catchable just throw aways or off target but they are credited to nearest guy..

Now back to dez over 800 yards and 8 tds in 2016 missed 3 games due to injury had 15.9 YPC his highest of his career with DAK.. had 130 and 2 tds long of 41 in the playoff game with DAK..yes hes been injured a lot in 2015 injured and no Romo..yes last year him and the whole entire offensive staff was derailed..but don't say he dropped off a cliff or isnt good with Dak, when in 2016 he projected out to 1k and 10tds if he plays all 16 and had monster playoff game..yes 2017 first bad year but with all the other issues id say lets see what 2018 holds to see if its trend or just an off year..

I realize he dropped some easy one saw him fumble in that important game and also saw a ton of those credited target not even close to catchable..lets start looking forward not back..i cant wait until game one for sure all these Nostradamus folks predicting doom and gloom and on their knees for the sheagles are on m last nerve.. Dez and witten like romo are being hated on badly and want them run out of town but forget what they meant to this team until after they are gone..

this is why he got paid..he was one of the best in that 3 year stretch and injuries are more to him falling off and somewhat losing his comfort with Romo gone..
