If both perform at their probowl levels next year and both demand top dollar, which one do you keep?

I say Hardy cause its do hard to replace his production.

There is no either or, if they really wanted to keep both. The Cowboys would shuffle/shed salaries elsewhere to make it so. This is unlike Murray who is at a position where you can easily find a replacement.

Dez is a top-producing weapon for Dallas and he may be the very best at his position right now. He is so tough and so clutch I've become spoiled to the point that I actually EXPECT him to make plays like the 'no catch' against Green Bay last January.

Dez is the real **** - everybody else can hang.

Dez scores points... Hardy would help, but in the end he won't make the impossible catch, or score the winner.

Fair point, but I think it really boils down to who helps their side of the ball more. Like I said, I'd probably still go with Dez, but I don't think it's a no-brainer, if you take emotional attachment out of the equation.

I want to actually see what Hardy brings. I know what I think he will bring, but I want to eyeball it for myself.

As long as the draft goes well this year and dez doesnt want something outrageous, keep dez and let hardy go. Hardy would have to give a discount to be worth keeping. Use him as a bandaid to build the defense through the next two drafts.

Why do people keep saying keeping Hardy isn't worth it or that there's no point? Since when has there been no reason to keep one of the best pass rushers in the game? Especially on an otherwise horrendous defense with no pass rush...

I would make every attempt to keep both. Possibly resign Hardy and hit Dez with the franchise tag again.

For the sake of the thread though, if i could only keep one it would probably be Hardy. You wouldn't simply replace the lost production from Dez with anyone, but i really do believe that with the favorable offensive rules that WRs are becoming the new RBs of the league. Most teams have a very respectable X receiver anymore, and those who do not typically have a good slot wr or receiving TE. Just look at the production that came out of the WR position in the draft a season ago. You could see a duplicate of that this season as well. The NFL is becoming over saturated with WRs. Not saying everyone is on the same level as dez but the drop between Dez and the average WR is not as much as the drop between Hardy and the average DE.

Exactly look at our defense struggle with sacks after losing Ware, now were going to rely on some unproven rookies to replace a probowl DE.
