I just don't see it.
But if he's merely on the field, it would take the Giants defense completely out of what they want to do.
If hes running and cutting in the early practice, i think they image the foot, ask him how much pain he is in, and go from there. They arent going to rush it. Dez is a freak of nature however, so his pain tolerance in my opinion is much higher then yours or mine. I think he sees practice tomorrow and friday. If he is running and cutting already, thats a very very good sign.
It's not about pain tolerance, running, or cutting. It's about how solidly that bone has healed and how much stress it can take.

If he is 100% I don't know if he should play this week. At the moment he has zero practices with Cassel. Throwing him in there may be more harmful than useful.

If he is close to 100% and wants to play-- play him. This offense can only be improved with a WR like Dez on the field. Just monitor his foot and if you need to-- limit his snaps.
You can't play football scared. If the bone is healed and he is medically cleared-- get him back out there.
