Todd Archer: Jason Garrett said he doesn't expect much from Dez Bryant in team drills today but if he can mix in a little he will. Mostly Bryant will work on the side as he continues his rehab from broken foot.

Like mentioned by many here - shocked if he plays Sunday.

People need to come to grips with the fact that Dez will most likely not be in top 3 WR form any time soon....if at all this year. Because of his contract situation....he did not play much football this offseason....and when he finally did....his inactivity led to hamstring issues....which also meant he did very little in training camp. Then the season starts...and he promptly gets hurt...because he did very little football activity in training camp. So we are talking about a player who basically has not "run" like a WR needs to "run" in a long time. I would LOVE to be wrong about this...but I think we should prepare ourselves to see "glimpses" of a top 3 WR this year. Hopefully those "glimpses" will be when we need them the most.

When you say "people need to come to grips with...", aren't you really projecting your own inadequacies on everyone else?

I suspect Seattle or Philly will be his first game.

Bones do not break because you don't do enough football activity in training camp.

Rapo-idiot trying to save face... How about not trying to guess what the coach is saying... Special players get special rules... If Dez does light team drills mixed in and he responds well I don't see how he isn't dressed for Sunday.

NFLN needs to replace this moron... Dude is hardly ever right... How can they still employ him as an "NFL insider". What stories has this guy even broke? He talks a big game, yet he's wrong the majority of the time. Isn't this the same tool that made a big deal about a "Dez tape"?

People on here sure do love to think that he's not going to play... even though there's absolutely no evidence as to why he won't. Absolutely zero confidence. I'm gonna say he plays and proves all of you wrong! Go DEZ!!

I think it's about as 50/50 as it gets. I haven't read ONE thing about a setback, so I think there's half a decent chance he plays.

Is that not the intention of this place?

I've seen it more often around here lately. It's like some posters can't enjoy watching football unless they're 90 percent certain the Cowboys are going to win. Newsflash: That kind of certainty is an illusion. We're five games into the season. Who knows what's going to happen?

No...I am really saying that to the fans that say "if the Doctors clear him, let it rip". I don't really get into it with a lot of people...especially if they have never played a sport at the high school or collegiate level....because all they can go on is what they "read". And all I am saying is that to play WR....you need your legs to be in football shape. You legs need to be conditioned to run....and then they need to be conditioned to run in cleats...and since his foot has been broken...I suspect he has been in a boot and done very little running...let alone running in cleats. Does that mean he won't play anytime soon? No! But it means it will take some time for him to play at a HIGH level. And when he does...it may be wise to work him in...to avoid calf strains, hamstring pulls, groin pulls etc....because simply put, when you don't run in a long time....you are susceptible to various muscles strains/pulls.

It shouldn't be any problem accepting whether Dez actually plays or not. Even if he's allowed to play this Sunday, it more than likely wouldn't be an unrestricted effort anyway. By that, I mean he'd probably be used sparingly, if at all. Moreover, it would very possibly be action as a decoy more than anything else. There's no doubt but what he'll help his team plenty when the time is right. Better to be safe than sorry, but we'll see come Sunday.

Everyone knows this, bruh. We see it every year with numerous players coming back from injury.

I still have no idea what we're supposed to "come to grips with".

Come on now, bailey.
Connecting the dots, I think you're saying, indirectly, that due to his hold out from contract negotiations....uh, he broke his foot.

Right because we all know that holding out leads to broken bones...
