Did any other team try to interview Schottenheimer for a job?

They can do better, this is the best they want to do, there's a difference. It's all about comfort and nothing to do with winning. So crazy the disaster that the past year has been and this is the route they're going. They truly don't care at all.
If they truly don't care , then why did they give Dak that absurd contract? I think they are just clueless b/c they reside in an echo chamber.

He's already been fired by almost half the teams in the NFL.

He don't have options left besides being the HC of the most profitable sports franchise in the world.
Honestly, I don't think it matters who the HC is...what we need is a true OC or stud QB coach. Dak is a quality, regular season, QB....it's playoffs....we need someone that is gonna stay in his face, on his brain and by his side on the bench....someone needs to keep him from over thinking it and keep that deer in the headlights looks off of his face. He needs to stay focused. A HC can't do that....he needs to be on the sidelines. We're screwed.

and the guy sitting by his side needs to be a top-line Shrink..

and no I'm not joking.

So because we have an overpaid low iq quarterback we are hiring this guy. God I hate this team…
Why hate the team- quarterback or Schotty? It's Jerry that's pulling all the strings you should be hating. Dallas was doing great until this idiot sent them down the drain.

They are clueless no doubt about that but I think it comes down to relevance. Rather give the illusion that they want to win instead of being a complete disaster every year. Sneak by on doing just enough but not too much. They're still required to spend a certain amount of cap dollars. If they're keeping their "star players", they're obviously trying. People actually buy that.

Seems pretty silly when your the most prestigious organization in sports and your searching for a head coach and the guy they zero in on was ignored by all 31 other teams…

Reminds me of the Texans with Josh McCown it was embarrassing for them and luckily they avoided that mistake and got the right guy,

But are we really about to make our head coach a guy no other team even interviewed for a coordinator positions?
Nobody else interviewed Nick Siriani from the Mighty Eagles either, and he didn't call the plays for Indy, Frank Reich did.
Yet Siriani's hire was widely accepted and glamorized.

When the fake news talks Cowboys, it's the end of an American institution

Just remember who is hiring.
Yoda is deadset on hiring nobodies and then hoping to strike gold to prove he is "a football guy."

Most great coaches are....and, I'm not joking. It was a big part of my career, not only with players, but assistants, school boards, administration and parents.
Fair enough

He seems to almost get anxiety attacks.. maybe a Shrink could help him with that.

Who was that dude in playoffs the other day reading a self-help book between plays.. I forget now.

Probably sounds silly.. but hell.. why not give it a try.

Sounds about right for this outfit.

Short answer from Jerry is gonna be something like this "We think the world of him, Dak and all our guys fought for him to be our coach. We couldn't be prouder and simply he blew us away during the interview process that we didn't even want him to leave for an interview. We knew we had our guy."

The snake oil business is doing well.

That press conference is gonna be awkward. By all accounts, he's a nice guy. I wonder if anyone is going to ask Jerry *** he is doing.

Fortunately, we have shone a bright light of success into the eyes of the fake media for the last 30 years.

We certainly do it to ourselves. That doesn't mean u have to believe it, just because you read it

I don't think most Cowboy fans know that Schott is one of the most recycled coaches in the NFL. He's been the OC of 6 different NFL teams and has been around the NFL since 1997 in some coaching capacity. He's been a part of 10 different organizations. It's gotta be some kind of NFL record.

This guy is the best we can do? Pretty pathetic.
At this point, you know what you get with him. If he is in serious consideration, this is all about comfortability for Dak.

He can’t learn a new offense. They already know what Dak “does well”.
