Did any other team try to interview Schottenheimer for a job?

I don't think most Cowboy fans know that Schott is one of the most recycled coaches in the NFL. He's been the OC of 6 different NFL teams and has been around the NFL since 1997 in some coaching capacity. He's been a part of 10 different organizations. It's gotta be some kind of NFL record.

This guy is the best we can do? Pretty pathetic.
He had a good stretch with the SHawks.

Pete probably vouched for him with Jerry.

Philadelphia has (1) SB win in 60 years, we have (5) and Dak Prescott has owned the Eagles in the last ten years.

If you're that impressed with them, I suggest going to Philly bar and singing Fly Eagles Fly, it's a free country
And that one superbowl was in the last 6 with the ownership and front office currently in place in philly. We been wallowing in mediocrity for the last 30 years. But keep thinking what you think. And no I’m not a philly fan, but you can’t deny they been doing something right since 2000. They have 18 playoff wins since 2000, How many do we have?

Stop gap security blanket for Dak.
Nope.....Dak is the fall guy for this......this is organizational dysfunction.....The narrative that Dak needs a certain coach is one thing......why can't the team have a good/great/hot coach?

They fired him for "difference in philosophy " after his 3rd season as OC and nobody came calling for him. He landed in J-ville as a passing game coordinator before we hired him a "coaching analyst". This guy was never HC material and I don't see anything that's changed. Certainly the performance of the offense last year didn't merit a promotion.

I don't think anyone here thinks that Jerry is in the same league as Howie Roseman.

it’s not enough that Dak is an anchor to the team from a financial standpoint, but now he has input into hiring a HC…heaven forbid Dak might have to prove his worth with a new coach and earn that contract.
Worst hire ever…this is Dave Campo version 2.

Seems pretty silly when your the most prestigious organization in sports and your searching for a head coach and the guy they zero in on was ignored by all 31 other teams…

Reminds me of the Texans with Josh McCown it was embarrassing for them and luckily they avoided that mistake and got the right guy,

But are we really about to make our head coach a guy no other team even interviewed for a coordinator positions?
What did everyone expect from the same guy who signed Prescott to his insanely overpaid and over hyped contract. My Daddy always told me don't compound a bad decision over another bad decision, it won't end well for you........................

Our SBs are so old it's like Browns fans bragging about titles from the 40s and 50s. The Eagles have been several tiers above the Cowboys the last 25 years.

Only losers care about the last 60 years. Winners care about the last 6 hours. Nice try.

He's already been fired by almost half the teams in the NFL.

He don't have options left besides being the HC of the most profitable sports franchise in the world.
Only the Seahawks and Jaguars fired him.He left the Chargers before Marty was fired to take the Jets OC job. He left the Jets when out of contract to join the Rams. He left the Rams when out of contract for Georgia.

He's just not a HC. Nothing he has done merits this promotion. I absolutely agree that someone with a different last name would not have been given as many opportunities as him. It was a lazy hire.

The guy was coveted a few years ago but turned down at least 2 HC offers when he was with the Jets and Seattle. Hes not a bum like being portrayed. Do yall realize Glenn is 52 and never been a HC either? Why is he being coronated and Shotty is being crapped on? Hes a year YOUNGER than Glenn lol. Remember how the media and pundits crowned Blobby Slowik 2 years ago and this year? Now hes been fired and sit ting on the couch. Why is the media TV experts so quiet? Afterall, they puffed him up into the next great HC candidate. Parcells never been a HC before and was promoted to HC while on the Giants staff. What about Don Coryell? What about Tom Landry? Thats right, they never were HC's before until somebody took a chance on them. Im saying lets pump the brakes, slow down and see how the entire staff gets assembled. Lets see what we do in the draft and see how camp goes. Then we might start seeing a clearer picture. He might be crap, but what if hes pretty good? The guy does command the room when hes talking and from what I know, thats HUGE.
