The 2 things that scare me most about that interview with Norm:

1. Jerry was quick to point out that Barry won quicker than Jimmy.

This is true but he said it in a way like Barry was better than Jimmy. Doesnt Jethro realize Barry took over Jimmys back to back title teams and was basically gift wrapped a ring. Jimmy cooked the meal all Barry had to do was put it in his mouth and chew. I'm starting to lose hope that this franchise will ever win big again when we have an owner with a warped mind and flawed thinking such as this. In my mind the '95 Cowboys were the greatest Superbowl Champion of ALL TIME because they won it all while overcoming Jethro and Barry bumbling around. I mean how they won that year with those 2 running the show is beyond me.

2. Why is Jethro talking football and schemes, why is he talking about moving players to different positions, and talking about different def. formations he wants them to do. Why doesnt Jethro answer football questions like this: "Well Norm what we do defensively will be up to the coach who ever it is". I mean really what makes him qualified to talk these things, 3 straight 5-11 seasons, is he trying to run off any good coach who might be interested in coaching this mess? Hey Jerry, Just Shut Up.

I'll wait for the Jethro lovers to blast me, so blast away.

Jerry backed off and turned the thing over to Tuna and Zimmy. I think the results speak for themselves. You are what you are and these idiots are .500 ball with a pair of 1 and dones. If you are happy with that, then lets just keep doing what we are doing. At least Zimmy was showed the door, now if Tuna would just go.

Im with Jerry, lets try something different like a rover scheme or something. This Cover 2 crap aint getting the job done.

I only caught the very last part, but Norm is on now discussing the fact it sounded as if Jerry was almost sold to the fact that they're going to move Henry to FS.

Norm is also speculating that Dallas may be playing a different alignment next year that Norm is calling something to the effect of a 3-3-1-4 alignment. The one being Roy Williams who would freelance and stay close to the line.

Henry at FS.....I like it, I really like it.

However, isnt that going to be alot of money for a FS, Henery making what, 4 mill per at least.

If we got the cap room, who cares. I would love to see Henery at FS and Roy being a Rover.:)

Ah yes, internet messageboard simplicity at its finest.

So I guess Pat Watkins "in a position to make plays" in this hypothetical defense by leaving him out there all by himself to cover the deep third so Roy can freelance. And then it would put DeMarcus Ware "in a position to make plays" by having to tie up blockers so Roy can free flow to the football without having to take on lead blockers.

No position stands alone on the defense. Everytime you take away responsibility from one player so he can freelance and "make plays" it means that other players have to pick up more responsibility and gives them less of an opportunity to make plays. Roy needs to prove that he's worth it.

stop trying to make sense, roy is great, everyone else sucks. :D

No don't get me wrong my post was NOT to defend Parcells in any way, his work has not been all bad but not anywhere near satifactory. With that said what bothers me is Jerry is talking football before a new coach is hired, and yes we don't know what Parcells status will be. It's like Jerry has in his mind what kind of schemes he wants run before we get a new coach if we get one, this bothers me.

The only authority Jerry should take is which coach is hired or fired, but while the coach is here let him have complete control of what HE wants to do, because if Jerry is drawing up schemes and blitzes or whatever then say hello to the years 2000, 2001, 2002. Does this not scare you? The Cowboys won't get a quality coach here if Jerry keeps talking like this, why would the coach want to be told what to do by a unqualified GM who is a wannabe coach. Whatever coach I'm talking about can go somewhere else for the same money or comparable and not have to put up with that.

I see your point, I dont wont Jerry "coaching" the team either. However, I agree that we need to be a lot more agressive and copying Pitt is not a bad idea. I guess we will all know pretty soon.:starspin
