So did my school.

I never hated on the guy. I think he's a good corner when he's healthy.stealth;1309032 said:he is one of the best 2nd corners in the league, stop hating on the guy he is a solid player. He has been hurt the last two seasons and yet every sunday he gives it his all for us. The man deserves far more respect than most on here give him.

TVMan;1309059 said:So, you're saying it wouldn't be a good thing then?

I just said that corners are faster than safeties, so if he isn't fast enough for safety, he shouldn't be at corner.
In other words, yes, he's fast enough for safety.
My question is if it would really be that easy a transition for him. I'm not sure it would be.
InmanRoshi;1309068 said:What theoretically is this starting lineup of the 3-3-1-4? Is Roy going to have to compensate for one less defensive lineman or linebacker by having to take on an offensive lineman or a lead blocking fullback for the first time in his career?
It might be good for Roy, but not good for the team overall. Just like force feeding the ball TO on every snap might be good for him, but not good for the team overall.

Norm asked Jerry if they would consider moving Williams to OLB in the 3-4. Jerry said that was going too far, but there are things they can do to move him closer to the line of scrimmage where he can make a greater impact. Jerry cited Pittsburgh as a team that plays their safety close the line of scrimmage and does different things with their coverages to compensate.
Taken with Jerry's comments about focusing on defense in the draft, this would almost assuredly mean a CB in the first or second round, which is fine with me.jazzcat22;1309080 said:Yes, this pretty much sums it up. But I took the Pittsburgh comment as a comparison only. As that is what they do, but doesn't mean they would do the exact same thing, but something based on it.
Norm took the quick "yes" answer on moving Henry as if it will happen. But I took it as it is a possibility for now. Many things can happen, if they don't get a guy in FA or the Draft to either play FS or to replace Henry at CB, then why move him.
JJ said he is content with BP year to year thing right now. And he does not want to give any of his coaches long term contracts.
Looks like he's setting it up so a new coach next year [if BP stays] can bring in his own guys and not have leftovers.
abersonc;1308954 said:So you take a guy who is arguably one of the better 2nd corners in the league and you move him to a spot that most defensive coaches would admit is among the easiest to find a quality player for?
Me, I think finding a good 2nd CB is FAR more difficult than finding an FS. We've had problems there but what have we invested so far? A 5th round pick? A new contract for Keith Davis?
We've tried to do this on the cheap -- it will still be far cheaper to get an FS than a new corner.

And with one less defensive end or linebacker in the front 7, Roy better not get stonewalled by a 210 lbs. running back on a blitz pickup like he was so often this season.
Oh yes, this sounds like a Bill Parcells defense for sure.TVMan;1309102 said:If it is a 46, then he shouldn't be. I assume he would be stunting and blitzing.
