Did Cowboys cut two players because they didn't wear suits?

Interesting read, but there's a player quote in there that gives it a little validity. If I recall correctly, it was a "second offense" for both, as neither wore the required attire for the team's visit to the 9/11 Memorial earlier this season. In other words, it's not just the matter of not wearing a suit, but an indicator of a bigger issue, such as a respect for team rules and authority in general.

I was skeptical of the "official" reason given that their respective releases were performance-related, especially in the case of Corey White. I thought he performed pretty well when he was healthy.

If this is a lets bash the coaching staff type of post then you are looking in the wrong direction.

With these two players

Corey white would support that theory, Christine was a knucklehead and didn't play well at all. I'm thinking it was a combination of needing to set an example and a little of the suit issue. All the losing and Greg Hardy issues made it seem like no one was being held accountable, so they made cuts. Michaels shoulder bumping his exteammates, not dressing properly, not going hard in practice, and flat out not playing well is the reason for him. I don't think michaels wanted to be here and the coaching staff might have got that same feeling. Huge difference on how Turbin is approaching his start with the team, I can see him sticking around with Dallas for a bit.

Dress codes for travel are dumb to begin with.

If that is why they were cut I can only shake my head.

Injuries to Claiborne and McFadden left us pretty thin.

Luckily Turbin got here Weds and BJones can play CB.

The company I work for has strict dress code rules. Either I obey them or I could get fired. I like the $$$$$$ so I'm going to abide! Pretty simple.

I certainly hope I don't see anyone bashing these moves as the same people who praised Lord Jimmy for cutting a scrub late in the season as the reason the team won a Super Bowl.

There is probably more to it than not abiding to a dress code.
If Romo did that, he would probably just be fined.

Jimmy cut players for sleeping in a meeting, John Roper, and even though a playoff spot clinched and the divsion, he cut Curvin Richards for a fumble, or was it 2 fumbles in mop up duty in the last half of the last game against the Bears.

Asked about it, and jimmy said he does have different rules for different players. Said Leon Lett was one of them.
Lett was basically hiding from Jimmy after the T-Day gaffe against Miami on the blocked FG. Jimmy found him, and told him he was not going to be released.

I'd like to wear shorts and flip flops to work, but, I can't, so I wear what the people who give me money tell me to wear.

Yeah, you guys are kinda missing the point here.

It's not like the football players are going out onto the field with just shorts and a t-shirt. I mean, you can basically wear your pajamas on the sideline if you are out a game, but you have to wear a nice suit when getting on a plane?

It's dumb, it does nothing to improve the game, it's just them looking nice for the stupid cameras.

Jimmy Johnson type move. I remember he cut a fringe player for sleeping in a meeting.

It was linebacker John Roper. It was the day after his baby was born too. He was up late due to the birth and fell asleep in the meeting and Johnson cut him.

I doubt this is the real reason behind them being released, but probably just another example of them not showing the work ethic the coaches thought they needed to be showing in order to improve their game.
