Did Dak bet too hard on himself?

Hopefully he learned one thing from watching Rush....don't turn the ball over.
ROFL. Dak has been one of the best in the league at TD to INT ratio since his rookie year.
He did fumble a lot last year which hopefully he quells but he has never turned the ball over much at all.
Rush had 30% of Dak's entire 20221 INT total in 1 game making this a very strange post.

Dak doesnt need to learn to throw 37 TDs to 10 INT because thats what he did last year.

Sadly is was against the most hated by Cowboys fans, the Egals. But Rush did play well. He could have easily been a turnover machine while Dak comes back to a 0-6 hole to dig out of.
This also shows that the quarterback position is being managed by a coaching staff that can evaluate and put together effectively a quarterback group that the team can win with even under injury and changes.

It has made this fan a believer in staff,

Yep,
The old td to int ratio debate.
Just a quick check of Kirk Prescott aka Dak Cousins over the last 5 or 6 years would reveal a strikingly similar td to int ratio and probably as close to QB performance stat level as you can get.

Wins included.

So, yeah.
I need a little more than a Cousins ceiling myself.

But, to each his own.

I think Dak has to be smart enough to play within the system, he does not need to be a hero. He has a good team with good players around him. In my view it is when you try to do to much that you end up failing. Troy Aikman knew to play within a system, that it was about team not himself
Doomsday, this is spot on! He needs to not try to do too much.

I think we can say that about a lot of these QB who are getting more than Dak is getting, trying to do more to justify the contact. In my view does not work that way. A system is in place on teams and QB as important as they are still relies on people around them from OL to RB to TE to WR. Playing outside of the offensive system trying to do too much is costing many of these QB. I know Dak can do the job, just play within the frame work of the offense

Mahomie is nuts! Waiting for him to do an inverted 2 1/2 twists and doink it off the centers helmet to the receiver for the TD.

I get most of what everyone is saying. See, dak has his own damn football field in his back yard. Kid is set for life if he is smart.

At some point, he has to take it up a notch.

It's not my money, so I could care less. Only thing is, its part of our teams spending allowance to put quality product on the field.

I'm in his corner.

I'm sure Dak is very concerned about the mood of this forum.
Its got nothing to do about what Dak thinks. I more concerned about the burning eyes of the readers of the forum.

I know its trivial to anything else.

ROFL, dudes just post off of vibes with zero data.
This isn't hard.

Kirk Cousins has 5 INT already this year. Which ties for 5th most. He has a career 232 TDs to 96 INT. 2.41 ratio.
Dak Prescott has a career 143 TDs to 51 INT for a 2.8 ratio.
Those are not all that comparable.

Pretending Dak turns the ball over is just lazy and pointless and untrue.

As to overall ceiling, perhaps. Cousins has made 3 Pro Bowls including last year. He's a QB Rating of 98 lifetime. And he's thrown for 260 yards per game on average.
He's a very solid starter but not an elite QB.
That wasn't at all the point that was made or that I responded to however.
Last year Dak had an INT to TD ratio of 3.7 and passed for 278 yards for game with a QB rating of 104.
Thats easily top 10 QB numbers.

Ok, so we’re still taking about paying him less regardless of who’s numbers are right.

I was referring to what you stated. That they could sign him for less but decided to wait.

Which is simply wrong.

They wanted to sign him but Dak wanted more money.

Yes, they could have signed him for much more money and a shorter deal. But they decided to wait.

Thats a big difference to wait you said. In fact its exactly the oposite.
Accepting this makes it not so easy to say that the FO are the ones to blame when they have to deal with an antisocial egoistic and egocentric something.

and jerry has shown you he is willing to spend when he has it? Its not my cash IDGAF I do however expect a better performance. not because of cash but because he is the starter and the rest of the team is reliant on it. As he is reliant on the rest of the team. Money appears to be the reason as so many state its importance
Whether it's your cash or not is completely irrelevant, and no one cares about that. It's all about salary cap room. It appears to be only you that is worried about his personal money. Why do you care about his personal finances?

I'm not a Dak apologist, I just hope he makes it to a higher level.

Those here that wish him lesser should get a

you didnt answer the question when jerry has the cap space is he spending it? or better yet when he does is it in right spots? Why do you care about what dak makes and his personal finances? you see we can do this dance back and forth all day. at this point daks contract has not hampered jerrys ability to put the pieces in place jerrys GM skills has! they will kick the can down the road and you know it and perhaps that what bothers you plus cap will rise.

honestly maybe not you personally but this is just the latest thing that being used. Dak was villified prior to the contract mainly because he wasnt Romo or because he didnt perform exactly the way the fanbase wants. again IDC what they get paid its not my money.I care if they are performing well enough and thus far thats a fair question in all the folks that have big contracts but its also a question in some of the rookie contracts.

Do you think im gonna give CeeDee a pass because he dont get paid like a number 1 with all untimely drops? Nope ill call him out. and Hes my second favorite player on this team behind Micah

Contract negotiations are NOT about the best deal you can get. And especially not about the most money you can get.

of course, if you are an antisocial amorphous something then it is.
What the hell do you think they are negotiating?

You mean like the 3 picks last week? LOL

My god you Dak trolls have no shame. Dak doesnt throw a lot of picks genius. Not like Romo in that regard.

Another completely laughable troll comment punted into the stands.

First off, I'm a supporter of one Dak Prescott.

It feels like jerry and Dak are not on short dial.

Now that Cooper has drove the bus with the rest of the team to a 4-2 start, now enters Prescott.

The only answer to the next two games is 2-0 or God help this forum.

Time to shine Dak.

Depends on why we lose. No doubt know nothing trolls will dance around with glee and blame Dak and point out how much better Rush is.

What I meant was, Did he push the envelope to a place where he can't deliver? Based on his salary.

When you lead the #1 offense in the NFL, as a QB you are delivering. Unless you lead the NFL in picks or something.

Hope Dak doesn't watch Coopers last game 3 big ints and a few more close calls.
right 2 near INTs in the wash game, 2 fumbles in the rams game 10-16 102 , 3 ints , missed open WRs over the middle he never saw dumped it down instead, 2 Lamb deep throws didn't make it.he was open and some soft ball batted passes ..sure dak should have learned ton from watching out bottom 10 Offense run the best hes ever seen...
FROM THE BENCH.. oh wait maybe not 2020 i believe our misfits went 3-1 down the Stretch with no dak.
Luv what Rush did for us but man this place went overboard with the fact they belive Rush is better fit for this teams.
