You told the story, it is up to you or someone else to prove that happened, otherwise, I don't believe it.

If you don't understand that, take a hike.

;)

If you show me where that was documented or proven, I will apologize to you. the onus is on you, not I. You brought it up...

So you do think its untrue. :laugh2:

Make up your dam mind.

What is inappropriate about admitting you thought what is he said was untrue?

Because I don't know if it's true or untrue. I have no evidence to go on, hence, I don't believe it.

;)

A football player, chewing gum, with a mouth piece, and a facemask, leaving his gum on a jersey during a game.

Really?

Like I said, I could give you examples of this same kind of topic, but it would not be right for this forum.

Let's just leave it at that, OK.

Looooool.

I gave an anecdote from something I heard years back. Ironically, DonCorleone who I was actually speaking to even said he remembered hearing the same story.

I don't have a link to the story at hand. But in your world of ignorance, you believe lack of evidence means evidence to the contrary. Nope, just means I don't have a link that highlights a minor event in a game from nearly 20 years ago.

It would be like if you told a story of meeting Jimmy Johnson in the parking lot of Applebee's in 1991. I say "baloney, show me a picture of you shaking his hand and him holding up a newspaper showing the date!" Because you can't produce that request on demand, your story is apparenlty untrue?

Lol, ahh, to be so simple-minded.

Like I said, if you're really interested in finding the "truth" of the matter, go fetch yourself boy.

I apologize...I was going to give you that last word...but...

"I gave an anecdote"

"as the story goes"

Those are your words, bro.

Perhaps that is why I am questioning your story?

The gum incident with Jerry Rice was brought up during one of the post game shows after the game in question from what I recall, though it may not have been the only time. Woodson was a hard hitter. In fact, most all Cowboy DBs in those days layed some serious lumber. James Washington was no slouch either.

How I long for those days! Other teams feared the Cowboy players. Irvin was so bold that he would confront opposing team's players on the spot if they tried to cheap shot. Even if the opposing player is surrounded by all of his teammates and Irvin is alone. See 1995 NFC Championship game if you don't believe it. Our players had no fear in those days, and the 95 NFCCG has more hard hits and cheap shots than you'll see in an entire season these days. It was a flat out brawl.

I remember Isaac Holt laying the wood to a couple of receivers too.

Yup, it was The Cowboys, then the rest of the league back then. Fun watching the team dominate the way it did back then.

I'd be telling a lie if I said I don't watch those old games anymore. When they show classic Cowboy games, I Tivo them. The 1990's Cowboys were a machine that every opponent had figured out in terms of play calling and scheme, but just couldn't stop. Aikman's release was so fast that the ball was out behind a line of blockers by the time he finished dropping back for the pass. That pass would be to Irvin before he had even finished his route only to turn around and find the ball perfectly placed between the 8's on his Jersey.

I do like watching games today, but watching such a dominant team that couldn't be stopped was a blast.
