Did Jerry tell Cooper Rush to tank the Game today?

I could be wrong but one team looked a whole lot better in the trenches than the other. You know, the trenches where 95% of games are decided. See if you can guess which is which.

Rush is what he's always been. His record vs. Philly speaks volumes. I would still rather he was our back up though.

This was really a strange Cowboy game today. Cooper Rush had been playing good in trying to bring this team back from a losing season. People were even talking about a possible QB battle next season. lol So there were at least THREE 3rd down and 1 for the Cowboys in the first and each time Cooper haphazardly just threw the ball down the field instead of throwing short passes to pick up the First Down. It just looked he might have been told not to look good or try to win. Because if he help Win this game and maybe the last game. This could make Jerry look bad for paying Dak all that money and/or use it as excuse to get rid of McCarthy. Opinions?
Cooper Rush has always crapped his pants when he plays the Eagles. Did he throw the game? Heck no. He just played like Cooper Rush always does.

True but in Rush defense, any QB would have struggled with Cook as your best WR playing against Fingio's defense. He had littlerly NO chance against a bunch of ALL-PROs/elite players on the other side.
Rush would have struggled against a YMCA youth team yesterday. His passes were all over and consistently threw high/behind WR's all day.

For example, we all wanted to see Mingo. He got 3 targets. One catch, another in the dirt and another outside when Mingo was expecting a pass inside.

They didn't tell him to tank. They did encourage him to be brave and go for it.

Same thing. :)

I'm not convinced those routes or ball awareness were very good. Like the long interception, cooks I think never looked while the DB totally tracked it.

Not saying coop had a good game. I also don;t think he was trying very hard to play Cooper Rush football. See my above comment

Yeah, but Kurt Warner said it was Mingo‘s fault, lol. Too funny that’s what someone told me yesterday. He was clearly headed towards the goal post and rushed through up and over to the outside.
CeeDee Lamb made rush look like a superstar. I didn’t realize how good CD was until he played with Cooper Rush.

This is true. Then again, after his performance this season, Dak hasn't been either.
Prescott made the playoffs four years in a row. This is the first year since 2020 we didn’t make it. Don’t say he didn’t play better.

Something was off.
The Cowboys outplayed the Eagles in the first quarter, and it wasn't close.
Suddenly it was as if they became a Jr pro team .
That doesn't happen in real life.
It was like they just wanted the Eagles to know they could beat them, and then stopped.

That’s because we ran the ball until Cooper rush, through an interception then we got behind and then he’s not capable of keeping up. It’s not hard to understand. Cooper Rush is nothing more than a back up.

No, not quite.
The Cowboys were in control on both sides of the ball. Then they seemingly quit on a 3rd and one that Rush threw a deep ball on instead of getting the first down. After that they were completely different.
I can understand the deep ball on 3rd down if you're going to go for it on 4th down, but they weren't planning to because they were in their own territory.
If they were trying to win they would have gotten the first down and went deep on the next play.

You have cracked the case.

There were 3 Dbs on Cooks! 2 of them were just decided who should pick it off.

And Cooks did nothing to any of 'em or the ball.

He mostly had a decent game, especially for what was available. But showed he's no 1 and barely 2.

Don't think so because Cooper Rush struggled against the Eagles even when the Cowboys were still in playoff contention the first time he started against them. Rush is a limited QB and the Eagles are a team who always has been able to take advantage of that. Even in 2022 when Dak got hurt and Rush had to start against the Eagles, it was still a case of Rush needing the defense to play shut down style for an entire game. And that game was the first time we saw what happens when our defense allows the opposing offense to score more than 20 points. As Rush is just not the type of QB who is going to consistently light up a scoreboard.

Other than the game against Carolina, Rush's ceiling even when he is playing well is going to be leading an offense to scoring around the mid twenties at the highest. Rush has never been able to play well against the Eagles, so I look at this as more of Rush always struggling against the Eagles. And don't view it as a tank since he wasn't super impressive against them back in 2022 when the Cowboys were still in playoff contention.

I think it had more to do with Pickett being the starter instead of Hurts. As the game went on, Pickett began to settle down and the Eagles coaching staff made adjustments that helped Picket be more successful—something our coaching staff rarely does.

No, didn't need to.

Rush is a backup. He played like a backup yesterday. This talk about Rush being better than Dak or maybe he should be the starter is complete nonsense. Did you see what the Eagles two backups did to Dallas yesterday? Rush had a QB rating of 50. The two Eagles backups were 119, and 156.

Finding a decent backup for Dak is a priority for next year. Of course the Cowboys will probably re-sign Rush but we can do better.
