Did Jerry tell Cooper Rush to tank the Game today?

This was really a strange Cowboy game today. Cooper Rush had been playing good in trying to bring this team back from a losing season. People were even talking about a possible QB battle next season. lol So there were at least THREE 3rd down and 1 for the Cowboys in the first and each time Cooper haphazardly just threw the ball down the field instead of throwing short passes to pick up the First Down. It just looked he might have been told not to look good or try to win. Because if he help Win this game and maybe the last game. This could make Jerry look bad for paying Dak all that money and/or use it as excuse to get rid of McCarthy. Opinions?
Or, he wasn't against Jalen Carter in the other games, and maybe the Fleagirls concentrated coverage short.

No, not quite.
The Cowboys were in control on both sides of the ball. Then they seemingly quit on a 3rd and one that Rush threw a deep ball on instead of getting the first down. After that they were completely different.
I can understand the deep ball on 3rd down if you're going to go for it on 4th down, but they weren't planning to because they were in their own territory.
If they were trying to win they would have gotten the first down and went deep on the next play.
I think that 3rd down play is getting way too much attention. Teams take shots on 3rd and short quite often as its typically where you get the best coverages to take those deep shots. Not only that it worked perfectly on the front end as Mingo beat his man on the double move, we just had an inaccurate pass along with a WR who isnt good enough to alter his route to play the ball. The play was there, the execution was not as they dont have very good players which is why this game ended up the way that it did.

No this is just who Rush is. Rush is a back up that ya'll trying to convince people he is better than Dak. Let that dream die. Now ya'll see how Rush looks when the defense isn't getting turnovers, special teams isn't providing great field position or scoring and the pressure is squarely on his shoulders. That is what Dak has to do this year with zero run game and the defense wasn't playing well.

Jerry looks bad no matter what. Jerry finally realized it was time to lose(CD no longer playing), although this was a few weeks late.

I don't believe players are told to lose. Head Coaches can be told to lose to minimize the exposure. They make the game plan, can call dumb plays or decide to play rookies over veterans to gain experience.
You absolutely cannot instruct players to lose. That is not how you tank, and they take away draft picks if you get caught doing it.

It is beyond amazing how many don't understand arm strength and what role it plays for a starting QB.

The pass wasn't inaccurate.
Mingo never found the ball in the air, but it was thrown perfectly.
That still doesn't explain why they would do that if they had no intention of going for it on 4th down or why they were suddenly so inept after the fact.
There is no way they suddenly forgot how to play football.
This is the new WWF.

The unmitigated gall......Cooper being "told" to tank. Even Cooper, being a decent person would laugh at the very thought.

I don’t know how many times this has to be said…..NO QB on the Cowboys roster is ever gonna make a run in the playoffs much less win a SB. Do folks on here not see this or do they just live in a fantasy world?

The pass was very inaccurate. It still was in a spot where it had a chance to be caught, but Mingo had two full yards of separation from his man but Rush underthrew it. It needed to come down closer to the 20 yard line and Rush floated it short to about the 25.

It absolutely explains why they would run that play...it worked just fine schematically and they had man to man coverage. Teams go for that quite often on 3rd and short because the deep part of the field is where the defense is vulnerable on those situations. On that play Rush had his choice of the easy dump off to Zeke for the 1st or the home run ball to Mingo. It was literally a perfect call. He took the Mingo route because he was wide open. It could be argued it wasnt a good decision because he was throwing into a 2 deep look, but with Turpin and Ferg running up the seems it kept the safeties honest giving the outside receivers a window.

I'm not sure they forgot how to play football, but the Cowboys often times this year have looked their best early on as they get through their scripted plays on offense. The Cowboys also have a history of playing better while playing with a lead and struggle when they fall behind. After this play they went down 14-7, fumbled on the the next drive and were quickly down two scores.

Unless there is an agenda and you have to do the extra calculus to fit everything within that agenda this really isnt a hard one to figure out.

It's a shame that the league can't suspend owners.

Jerry's a money train. NFL would never suspend him.

And I'm sure they can suspend owners. MLB suspended Marge Schott, so it has been done on a professional level.

Rush plays like this everytime he faces Philly.

No one said there was a QB battle here.

Cooper Rush is not a starting caliber QB in the National Football League.
Imagine how Lance feels....number 3 pick to backup to Rush....I wish I knew what happened to this kid. Did he shut it down mentally after he lost his job to Mr. Irrelevant? If he had flashed in the preseason, Dak probably wouldn't have been signed. Oh well....

Battle , Only casuals thought this, it was a mirage to begin with false narratives, it was bookend to the bad start Ie eagles/Texans' loss, now eagles again. Same old rush vs better defenses...

any better defenses ie looked like poo against the rams in 22, 107 yards passing 2 fumbles. its total mirage that Rush is any good anyway, if you take the dak hate goggles off you would see the truth, lol I like rush but hes not that good...

want to overrate backups see both eagles BUs yesterday, give then that kind of support and most can make some plays.

He is the 4th highest paid backup in the NFL right now and he was 3rd string most of the year.

It was tongue in cheek but appreciate the response.
