Did Jerry tell Cooper Rush to tank the Game today?

If Rush wanted to tank the game, then it would have been his easiest assignment this season. I'm pretty sure it didn't take a whole lot of effort.

This was really a strange Cowboy game today. Cooper Rush had been playing good in trying to bring this team back from a losing season. People were even talking about a possible QB battle next season. lol So there were at least THREE 3rd down and 1 for the Cowboys in the first and each time Cooper haphazardly just threw the ball down the field instead of throwing short passes to pick up the First Down. It just looked he might have been told not to look good or try to win. Because if he help Win this game and maybe the last game. This could make Jerry look bad for paying Dak all that money and/or use it as excuse to get rid of McCarthy. Opinions?

No Ben, nothing that conspiratorial. It's just Cooper Rush doesn't have the arm strength or velocity the ball to overcome windy stadiums. Nothing new here

OMG, how far up Rush's arse is your head.

Rush plays decent against bad defenses. in the past few weeks we played 18th, 32nd and 25th ranked defenses.

he struggles against better defenses. that's what we saw the first game (was he tanking then) and that's what we saw today. his arm strength and velocity is just not there against better DBs. against lesser DBs he will find some success, but going against playoff calibur teams and contending teams, he will continue to struggle. so no he didn't tank yesterday. that's childish. that's utterly stupid and so conspiracy and drama ridden. he plain is not capable of contending against better defensive competition.

unbelievable. so stupid.

True but in Rush defense, any QB would have struggled with Cook as your best WR playing against Fingio's defense. He had littlerly NO chance against a bunch of ALL-PROs/elite players on the other side.
in the first game against eagles, CD played and he sucked. at home no less. so don't think it would have made much of a difference. he struggles against better players. the arm isn't there to fit things into tight windows and making the proper throws.

Something was off.
The Cowboys outplayed the Eagles in the first quarter, and it wasn't close.
Suddenly it was as if they became a Jr pro team .
That doesn't happen in real life.
It was like they just wanted the Eagles to know they could beat them, and then stopped.
nothing was off. what you saw is what you get. Rush doesn't have the arm strength to compete against higher level defensive talent. he will do OK and decent against average defenses, like the 28th or 32nd ranked defenses, but playing top 10 type defenses he struggles because he can't get the ball there and it turns into interceptions. he knew this and was trying to put a little more oomph into it, and then it becomes erratic and inaccurate.

and btw, how was it that we outplayed eagles when the score was 7-7 at the end of the quarter? specially that he started the game throwing a pick 6!!!

or are you looking at stats....which in the past you have claimed don't matter!!!

and how does this not happen in real life? where you passed out drunk in the first game when we passed for 45 yards!!!

this is not the first time cowboys have been blown away this season or prior seasons.

I understand but any Cowboy QB would have struggled Sunday w/o Lamb, especially against Fangio's defense. Granted Dak have their number and I'm sure it would have been a closer game but w/o Lamb.........

The pass wasn't inaccurate.
Mingo never found the ball in the air, but it was thrown perfectly.
That still doesn't explain why they would do that if they had no intention of going for it on 4th down or why they were suddenly so inept after the fact.
There is no way they suddenly forgot how to play football.
This is the new WWF.
how is a way underthrown pass (due to lack of arm strength) is accurate pass?
lets just agree, that Rush is nothing but a very average QB, who will play decent against bad teams and struggle against better teams. all the evidence to date points to this fact that's undeniable.

I don’t know how many times this has to be said…..NO QB on the Cowboys roster is ever gonna make a run in the playoffs much less win a SB. Do folks on here not see this or do they just live in a fantasy world?
But no Cowboy roster has been capable of making a run since '95.....this isn't golf or tennis. Only our base levies all the responsibility on one position, it's just the love, excuses, praise, complaints, vitriol, or hate that gets distinguished and sorted out.

This is true. Then again, after his performance this season, Dak hasn't been either.
That’s fine but this the post is about whether or not Cooper intentionally threw the game away on purpose. Daks performance is not relevant.

Wait, you aren't actually trying to make an argument that the Cowboys are a good team are you? I don't think this game surprised anyone, plus I didn't see Rush out there on D.

Prescott made the playoffs four years in a row. This is the first year since 2020 we didn’t make it. Don’t say he didn’t play better.
I said this season he didn't play like a starting caliber QB, and our S.O.S. in those four years had us against a bunch of terrible teams and our division sucked. So yeah, we made the playoffs, but don't pretend it was some herculean effort on Dak's part. And we didn't make it 4 years in a row. 2021, 2022, 2023 seasons we made it. 2024 we are not making it. 2020 we didn't make it. So no, Prescott didn't make it 4 years in a row. He also choked 3 playoffs in a row. (As the team did as well, but this is about Prescott).

So not one thing that I said was untrue, unlike your claim of making it four years in a row. Prescott is a fine regular season QB (normally)....but he looked terrible this season before his injury. He didn't look like a starter. Make all the excuses you want, but facts are facts. Sorry, man.

I don't think he did. I think he just had a bad game and Lamb and other key elements were out.
