I can't believe you guys are bashing David Carr...ridiculous...the guy was sacked 9 times in the first two games, but he still had a 123 QB rating...today he was sacked and harrassed again and again because his offensive line really sucks, and his starting field position was bad because his defense can't get anyone off the field.

Yet after 3 weeks he still leads the entire league with the highest QB rating. I think a guy who takes the punishment he takes, and watches his organization pass on guys like Reggie Bush, yet still finds a way to perform admirably should get some respect.

I'd love to have David Carr as the cowboys QB.
Now Wayne you know that only Bledsoe has ever played behind a bad offensive line.

They just had the first pick in the draft 5 months ago. That means they suck.

watch the games man

it doesnt take alot of effort to complete passes against prevent defenses

his numbers are because his team has behind by 2 or 3 tds every week...his poor play early in those games is one of the reasons...then he pads his numbers in the 4th qtr...they've been blown out all 3 games now

David

I saw the first game of the year and he had some crazy first half numbers. Something like 17 for 20. That wasn't against any prevent defense.

I would take Carr over Bledsoe, just to see if he can work here.

that's me.

That is just silly. The high point of Carr's career was his first game when we choked. He has never been that good since.

Yeah, I agree.

Carr is a long ways away from being "at worst" a Bledsoe (assuming we're comparing their careers and not just their current abilities).

Bledsoe had monster numbers early in his career, appeared in a Super Bowl and was a multi-time Pro Bowler.

As you said, Carr beat the Cowboys and not much else.

I always liked Bledsoe when he was younger. He was a fun player to watch, IMO. Sure, he had his warts, but he was pretty solid, especially under Parcells.

Maybe Carr can one day approach that level if he signs with a more talented team. But, at this point, that seems so far away.

most NFL teams prefer playing the Texans over the bye week.

i like Carr just based on the display of guts he shows to keep goin' out there and have his a** handed to him on a weekly basis. he wouldn't know how to act if he wasn't gettin' knocked down 8-10 times a half. dude is tough as nails. he pretty quick and has plenty of arm. what he needs is a change of scenery.

I usually dont watch the Texans, but I checked them out today against the skins. They totally suck, and I mean really suck!!

The skins kept running the same plays over and over and over again with their dink and dunk crap and the Texans never even tried to adjust. Their defensive coordinator must be dumb as a rock, its like somebody running the same play against you in Madden and you keep falling for it over and over again:bang2:

Actually, I think the Toxins COULDN'T adjust... the reason for that??

I honestly believe they have the worst set of linebackers I've ever seen, in 46 years of following pro football... a simple shovel pass goes 74 yards?? They can't stop the WR screen, even on the 50th time the Skins run it against them (I know, that's hyperbole)??

No wonder they were giving up 478 yards per game going into yesterday... I guess I understand now why they thought they needed to switch from the 3-4 to the 4-3, though...

Though I have criticized Brunell for doing nothing more than throwing 3 yard dumpoffs the first two games, and though he did little more than that this game too, I won't criticize Mark this time-- why should he throw anything else, if the Texans never did anything to stop what he was doing?? Why should he take any chances downfield??

You can bet that weak crapola won't work against a real team like the Jags... and with Jacksonville's stong run D, you can bet the Skins will need a downfield passing games to get out of that game with a W...

I also had a hard time finding Mario Williams, except on one of the TDs where he was blocked by some scrub TE.

Yeah, the top pick in the draft, and he gets driven out of a running play completly by a freakin' TIGHT END??

I won't get too mad, though, we get a shot at them this season, too... can't wait to see what Julius and Marion can do to that pathetic run D...

If Carr Is released in the next year or two, and we don't sign him, I'll be crushed.

The guy DOES NOT lack arm strength or accuracy, and we all know the guy has guts. D'Brickashaw Fergusson should be in Houston instead of Mario Williams.......stupidest decision ever. You pass on Bush and you go defense when your O-line leaks like an old faucet.

Carr is a character guy that would flourish with an offensive line and a few weapons.

Romo may negate the need for Carr, but if we are in the market in a few years....

I wouldnt...Carr is a bust

Skins fans should be worried about a coupla things from that game, as they're celebrating racking up mega yardage on the Toxins:

1) One sack of David Carr... the Toxins' offensive line is just putrid... Carr put up a 95.2 rating on the Skins, and the Toxins averaged 5.4 yards per play...

This defense is simply not as good as last year's was, and not NEARLY as good as the defense was two years ago... I know that missing Shawn Springs hurts them, but Archuleta is every bit the liability in coverage we knew he was gonna be, and even when Springs returns, Mike Rumph is still gonna get his playing time, and Carlos Rogers seems to be going through a sophomore slump...

For you Skins fans out there, Terence Newman went through a similar slump and bounced back nicely, so it might be too early to hit the panic button... I think he's better suited to be the 2nd CB anyway, where he doesn't have to be the "target" for opposing offenses, so if Springs can get back on the field (and play effectively when he does), Rogers shouldn't struggle quite so badly...

Even so, the pass rush is all but nonexistent, and the coverage isn't very good right now... certainly, they had NO answer for Andre Johnson, and I'd have to assume that Gregg Williams put a special focus on AJ... can't really testify to the run D off of this game, since the Toxins only ran the ball 18 times... Ron Dayne did have some limited success inside on them, though, and of course we remember that Julius Jones and Marion Barber ran effectively on them the week before...

2) No sacks yet this season by supposed pass-rushing stud Andre Carter... and this time, he was going up against the immortal Ephraim Salaam (who wasn't even their starter until rookie Charles Spencer broke his leg)...

After 3 games, Carter has 6 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 quarterback hurries... doesn't look like he's gonna be the second coming of Charles Haley for the Skins, LOL...

3) Brandon Lloyd, 3 catches for 26 yards and 0 TDs in 3 games... how much did they give up to get him, again??

4) Chris Cooley, 7 catches for 38 yards and 0 TDs in 3 games... this was their second best receiving weapon last year...

The Skins put a serious hurtin' on the Toxins, and I know Skins fans are feeling this sense of relief at gettin' off the schneid, but they won't play any more teams as completely putrid as the Toxins the rest of the way (though the Titans might come close)... for sure, it won't be so easy next week...

They got a W they needed, but I still see serious problems with that team...

Too early to call him a bust, but they needed Bush, Bush was there yet they passed.

If they get another top three pick, they should think about trading it for a multitude of first day picks to improve the team everywhere. Outside of D. Robinson, I wouldn't take many players from that team.

I said from the beginning if I had the 1st pick I'd have taken Leinart, I'll stick with that.

David Carr's current situtation reminds me of Archie Manning's years with the Saints. A talented QB who doesn't have a real chance to develop because his team is so bad.

the Texans in just a couple years are already challenging the Cardinals for the most pathetic franchise of all time. wonder how long it will take before that franchise also leaves the city of Houston

they aren't any worse than the oilers were. there was a stretch of about 10 years when they couldn't do squat until bum phillips got there, and another stretch afterwards until warren moon arrived.

the city is used to it.

Great pick Houston:laugh2:

Houston has a lot of problems which is why I felt they made a mistake when they had the overall #1 pick. When teams have that many holes I think you need to try and package that overall for more picks.

How about Oakland? When they play each other later this year I'm worried that the stadium will fall into a black hole of suck.
