Did Sunday change how you view the game

I'll be honest, I thought Denver was going to take Seattle out fairly easily. I thought giving Peyton two weeks with weapons like DeMarius, Julius and Welker was going to be too much for Seattle given that they aren't an especially potent offense.

I was predicting like a 28-17 type score.

I've been an offensive guy forever, but Sunday's game made me view that bringing in Linehan is not going to help unless we

A) Have 5 studs up front to give the QB time - that's what killed Manning was his OL.

B) Use the run a lot more to make the 1-on-1 matchups easier in the secondary when we do pass.

Before the game I was all for taking Kelvin Benjamin in the 1st round and putting him next to Dez. I'm now completely against that. It's going to be weird looking at the game from a different vantage point.

Did Sunday's game change how you view the game as well?

Nope. It confirms what I've been saying all along. The Cowboys need to protect Romo with a running game and a defense. They should have done that back in 2007. Instead, we became a "Romo-led" team, and that has gotten us nowhere. That's why teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, though they may miss the playoffs here or there, are almost always in contention. They have a meat-and-potatoes philosophy, and they stick to it.

The Seahawks built the right way and use Russell Wilson the right way. That guy is going to be dangerous in Year 5 because he has been taught how to play within himself and not make mistakes.

Nope. But I do think a ton of people are taking the wrong--or at least only half--message from that game.

I think we need to think outta the box ... and draft based on size and athletic ability. Get guys that are huge and can run and play D. At all the positions on Defense. DBs ... 6' 2 ... 6'4 .. can run like the wind 200-220lbs. LBs ... 6-3 to 6-6 250-275 lbs and run and hit like mack trucks. DL 280-300+ can stuff the run and chase the QB.

I guess im dreamin ... this team loves the mighty mouse DBs and LBs ... *sigh*

Wow, that sounds great, .. suppose all of the other teams care if we do that?

Tom Landry - "Offense sells tickets, Defense wins championships."

I've always believe that true, so no, this game did not change my outlook.

Not at all. Very confident Seattle would win the game. Definitely did not think it would get out of hand so quickly and be a laugher. That safety just messed with the mindset of Denver and they never got on track. A lot of these finesse offenses like Saints, Peyton led teams and even some of Brady's, you punch them in the mouth, they usually fold. Peyton has experienced that many times with the Colts going up against San Diego and NE. Even the Steelers in 2005. Now the other night against Seattle. Brady's high powered offenses were done the same to by Giants both Super Bowls.

You have to have somewhat of a functioning offense to win. But you don't need to be all world setting all kinds of records. That usually never wins it all. 99 Rams is one of the last ones I can remember that won it all with a record setting offense.

I do still think it's a QB driven league, though to an extent. Rodgers, Brady, Peyton, Ben R, Brees....Those are most of the your winning QBs the last decade. You can't win in this league with a junk QB and offense.

Yeah. I thought defense was dead. Let's be honest, we haven't seen a defense like this since 2000. It seemed like the leauge was trending towards high risk/high reward defense, like the 2010 Saints.

I guess it's kinda like Vegas, don't go with the obvious. I used to wager on football and basketball games and sometimes would see a line (point spread) that seemed too good to be true, well what do you know, the betting public was all over it to. More times than not Vegas would win said game and the public would lose.

This season confirmed what Risen has been preaching, we get caught up in names (wrs, qbs, rbs) and think that the games are won with those guys when in fact it's usually won by the teams that wins the line of scrimmage battle.

For every Dez, there's a Cliff Avril that not too many people know that's more valuable than him. For every Murray there's a Tyron Smith that's more valuable than him.

If I had 4 good starting dlineman I'd draft another one within the first three rounds of the draft because you just can't have enough of them. You ever heard a coach say "we just have too many pass rushers".

This game is won and loss by protecting your qb and/or getting after the other teams qb. You have to build your team from the inside out not the outside in, I know a #77 jersey doesn't sell as good as a #88 does but if you want to win then that shouldn't matter.

This is exactly what the Seattle coach said in his press conference, If you are big and can run fast, you can play for the Seahawks, if not, you are outta there. If you have some big strong imposing players that can run like a deer you can beat any offense in the league. IMO and the Seahawk;s coach's opinion.

Nope. It really only confirmed what I've always believed. Defense wins and even in a league that is so geared towards the offensive side of the ball, a dominating defense with a physically imposing DL can beat even a great offense.

This. I won multiple bets by just going with the best defense. I thought Denver would put up at least 20 points, though.

Vegas doesn't make money on the winners and losers. They make money on the vig. Their goal is to make the betting as even as possible on both sides.

But if 70% of the money was on Denver then Vegas wins more money. I get what you're saying but games don't always have a 50-50 split on bets.

They would, but if Denver would have won in that scenario, they would lose their butts. Casinos aren't in the business of gambling with their money, they prefer to charge you a fee to allow you to gamble with your money. If 70% is on the Broncos, then they adjust their line to get it closer to 50%.

If defense wins championships, does that make the Cowboys the least likely team to win a championship?
