once again making excuses for not doing better - you guys are all pros at that

I notice you avoided my post. We are better than average and for all you know might be the best efficiency wise. The vast majority (re:90%) of 4th rounders do not pan out league wide. We do better than that but you want perfection where none exists. It's like complaining someone has a .300 average in baseball because they miss 70% of the time.

Find me ONE team that's hit on the majority of their 4th round picks in that time frame. It's not really the norm to have 4th round guys be superstars...

teams miss om players every draft it happens

Look, I understand that. But the Cowboys have been missing on players not because they were just "unlucky". They were drafting projects and players from small schools. The 4th round is just too early to be doing that. Drafting for special teams, drafting from small schools, drafting projects, drafting positions......the Cowboys went from finding guys like Chris Canty, Marion Barber and Bradie James in the 4th round to drafting Matt Johnsons. There's a clear reason for the decline in personnel. Just because other teams miss in the 4th round doesn't make it right

like it matters what other teams do? There should be only one standard; ours. Just because other teams screw up should mean NOTHING to us.

Question is which teams don't screw up fourth round picks?

My defense of the current Jones regime is there has been a seachange in the last few years beginning with
Garrett placed as head coach. Reordering the scouting department has been exactly what this team needed.
The drafts are remarkably improved.

Just because other teams miss in the 4th round doesn't make it right :Yes it does
What's that saying going around ,"they get paid too". All of us miss and hit. All of us including the best.

What does this even mean lol? Who said the Cowboys were the only ones who missed? Better yet, why should I care what the Raiders or the Browns are doing or any team for that matter?

Cause you cant say we're worse than those teams w/o knowing their history. But hey, hate on.

Other teams miss out in the 1st round too but I don't see anyone giving this front office a pass for Morris Claiborne despite the majority of that 1st round stinking.

I just don't agree with that logic. The organization should always be held accountable especially for their approach to those rounds. There is talent to be found in the 4th round. Maybe not every year but atleast have the right approach to it.

They can't even draft a solid special teams guy in the 4th round. These 4th round guys are out of the league or never even get into the league. That's not the correct approach.

Is that what I said? I said we were worse than those teams or is this you just assuming I said what maybe some other posters said on this site? Because i'm actually one of the posters who thinks this team does a pretty solid job of drafting and i've been the one to bring up the fact the Seahawks front office and drafting has been overrated being they have constantly either missed in the 1st round or they have traded their 1st rounders for guys like Percy Harvin. But what I truly said was:

I would settle for a Wilber that can come in and be a rotational guy in the 4th round. But you can't completely miss like on the Owosu and Matt Johnson picks.

So where did I say we were worse than those teams at?

So its no "hate on". I'm just giving you a unbiased opinion about a problem with this organization and their approach to the 4th round. If you care about what other teams do so much why not go follow them? Raiders suck in the 1st round so its okay for us to do so right?

Its time we part ways n ****. You win the argument w/o understanding it.

Congrats.

If you read it and declined to respond it is what it is. At the end of the day, it's clear how you have no real basis for your expectations. 90% of fourth rounders fail. We appear to have hit on two in the last 8 years.

Well its early but I do say I like the HItchens pick. Even if people felt it was a "reach". Atleast the "reached" on a player from a quality school who played quality competition. Instead of a project from Eastern Southwestern Illinois.
