Did the refs give us this game?

Reffs, umps what ever are just the human factor in all sports. Its just part of the game.

During at least tow of our TD drives the Chargers had stopped us on 3rd down but penalties on them kept those drives alive for us. One could argue (and allow me to play devil's advocate here for the sake of discussion) that if not for the refs making quetionnable calls against the Chargers they would have won that game, because we would be punting instead of marching down to score TDs. Your thoughts?

***? what questionable call? on the roughing the passer the guy clearly went to Bledsoe's head, which is an automatic penalty...also wasnt much doubt on any of Q Jammer's penalties either...he just played lousy

Well the only BS call i saw was the roughing the passer on Bledsoe when they stopped us in the 1st half (i think).

the guy clearly hit Bledsoe in the head...the rules say that is a penalty

how is that a b/s call or as someone else said "could go either way"

No, the refs didn't give us the game. If you want to see an example of refs giving away a game, go back to the "tuck rule". I think they invented that rule in the snow at Foxboro...after a phone call from Tagliabue to the refs. No way the Patriots exit the playoffs after 9/11 on a stupid thing like a fumble.

I don't believe the NFL is rigged, but sometimes I think the refs do have an agenda, along with Tagliabue. I am looking for the Saints to make a Super Bowl run this year...because Tagliabue would want it that way...and he will grease the skids for them.

To answer your question......no. We won the game because we made plays. There were questionable calls both ways. If the refs are staying true to the rules of the game then their supposed to throw a flag when there's a violation. SD simply made their mistakes at "crucial" times and we didn't.

Not no, but hell no, because if that were the case they almost gave it back to them. On our last TD drive they misplaced the ball twice on JJs runs. Once at the 11/12, they put it back at the 13/14 yards line, and on the 1 yard line they put it on like the 2 1/2. Hidden yards that make the down and distance tougher on the offense.

dont know what tey showed at the stadium then, because it was clear as day on the TV replay

can't fault the refs for doing their job. they called an even game (witness a couple of backwards marches on the part of the cowboys early on).

but dallas will be in trouble against a more disciplined defense - one that won't let them off the hook with bonehead plays in crucial situations.

the offense still has plenty of work to do. particularly the O-line.

Over the last few years Dallas has had calls just like that go aginst us, that have cost us big time. On sunday it went aginst the chargers.

Did the Refs give us that game.

No Neil O'Donnell gave us that game....oops wait...wrong game.

Sorry...carry on.

Even (IF) they did. Think about how many times we have had the game given away to the other team.(By The Ref's) Just think.....

The jersey grabbing by Jammer (2 times) and the head slap by Castillo were not all THAT blatant but technically they were good calls. Now the shanked punt, THAT was a break.

I don't think the any of the calls were "technically" good calls, they were just the right calls.

The jersey grabbing by Jammer was blatant. Defensive backs don't accidentally grab receivers jersey's. There is intent there to slow the receiver down. The refs don't have to sit and think that Jammer didn't mean to grab the jersey. He pulled pretty hard on the shirt.

Castillo's head slap on Bledsoe probably wasn't blatant, but the intent doesn't matter in that situation. The head slap just happened and any time it happens it is a penalty. Aikman was commenting on the play about how difficult it is for a defensive player to go after the QB and sometimes not accidentally hit him in the head. You are fighting hard to get through blocks and bring the QB down and sometimes that is just the position you are in. The result will always be a penalty. The refs don't have to make a judment call on it. Shot to the head equals penalty. Happens to most defensive players at sometime or another. I remember several against Dallas last season and expect some this year.

People complain about these call because the losing team is usually the one that make these infractions during critical moment of the game. Good teams do not put themselves in these situations.

In the past when we weren't good, we make the same critical mistakes that cost us the game. This week, we capitalized on them like a good team should. This is a giant leap forward for the team.
