Did we draft Collins as a babysitter for Gregory?

They were roommates at Nebraska. Maybe we drafted him not only as a backup 3-tech, but also to keep Gregory on the straight-and-narrow. Make sure he has a close friend to be with, and perhaps room with again.

Gosselin calls Collins a run stopper which is not only false but strange trait for a 3 tech in a Marinelli D. Gosselin is probably just saw that Collins only had 2.5 sacks ( clear regression from year before) and assumed he was a 2 gapping 1 Tech.

Cowboys must of drafted Collins so he can be their turf expert, since he has a penchant for ending up flat on his face when playing.

I am just extremely happy we finally selected a big nasty on the defensive side of the ball early.

I think on a rotation this guy could be pretty good. I'll be honest, I haven't watched anything on him-- but on his highlights he exhibits a pretty rare burst off the line from a guy his size. But again... highlights. We'll see how often that happens.

Still I like this pick.

Collins was an All-American undefeated state wrestling champ his senior year of high school. He may have the best hands in the draft and great explosion to go with it. This move is all Will McClay.

What about it makes it Will McClay?

Broaddus said Gregory had a Cowboys staff member living with him and around him 24/7, yet still managed to screw up THREE more times this season. This pick has nothing to do with keeping him in check. Only Gregory himself can do that. Anything Gregory gives you from this point forward is an unexpected bonus in my eyes.

That is pretty troubling, its a Josh Hamilton situation.

Didn't Gregory fail multiple drug test while at Nebraska?

Yeah, we all had if figured out by then, especially with a ton of money dropped in our lap.

Well, money or no money, how old do you think one needs to be to become a responsible adult? 24? 25?

Except Josh Hamilton had MVP-caliber seasons thrown in there and was on the straight an narrow for a few seasons. He fell off the wagon a couple of times and he's breaking down in his old age, but he at least showed something. Randy Gregory hasn't done anything of note other than screw up.
