Did we draft Collins as a babysitter for Gregory?

That is one expensive habit. It cost Tunsil a lot of money too.

Randy is bipolar -- those inflicted need a prescribed medication to counter the effects of that condition -- definitely not pot, since it's illegal.

They were roommates at Nebraska. Maybe we drafted him not only as a backup 3-tech, but also to keep Gregory on the straight-and-narrow. Make sure he has a close friend to be with, and perhaps room with again.

We'd be stupid to do it, so maybe but i hope not

You know it's not a party issue with the kid right?

That's what bugs me about this. People talk about how much they care about mental health, but then throw guys like Gregory under the bus just because they don't understand his situation (same as with other conditions like depression). Randy is a well spoken, well intentioned kid from what I can tell. I believed him when he said the weed wasn't an addiction at last year's draft. I'm sure at that point he was in a good state of mind. Now I don't know much about the bi polar disorder, but I'm sure there's probably times when he's by himself that there's a battle going on inside his head that he's fighting alone. 24/7. And only thing to clear his mind is weed.

Now the cowboys obviously know this, but I'm sure any legal prescription drugs for this condition are probably also banned, or limit him so much as an athlete he can no longer work.

Just seems like the nfl is saying, if you have a mental disorder, don't bother coming to the nfl. You don't have options.

Before everyone gets on me about this being his choice, I'm sure he fought the battle in his head thousands of times in the past year, but failed himself the handful of times he got caught. He needs help, I just don't know how he'll get it.

I get your point as far as no one knowing what its like to be in Gregory's shoes. However, bipolar disorder is a stretch. I'm a psychologist and speculation that he doesn't meet criteria for criteria for bipolar is much more likely than that he does. If anything else, and from previous information, it is likely that he has an anxiety disorder. In any case, Gregory has to find an effective way to cope with anxiety. The NFL is actually doing the right thing by suspending him. If not, you are simply enabling him. One way or another, he needs to get this taken care of. I'm sure the Cowboys have helped and have programs for him. Nevertheless, this is an intelligent young man with resources. It is his responsibility. I hope that he has checked into a rehabilitation center during the off season. He obviously needs it.

Pot is illegal - for a while. Its legal in several major States and California has bill likely to pass in the fall that will make it legal in California as well. I don't smoke, but in two years more than half of the country will live in a State where its legal. The times they are a'changing.

I would add this also has element of Marinelli who preaches getting players who are quick twitch.

This is so true, Rod likes guys who can get up the field. I'd never pass on a good 1 tech. Somebody has to play the run

Wish I could like this more than once.

You can tell by the teams response to his suspension that this is a health issue and not a party issue. I feel for the guy.
