Did we make a mistake trading for Roy?

Had we never traded for Roy we would've had a first round pick this year, a third this year, a 6th this year and a 7th next.

Beside that we more than likely wouldn't have released T.O, but had we never traded for Roy would it be T.O & Austin as our starters, because if so we would have the best 2 starting WR's in the NFL excluding Arizona, Roy does not produce and came at too high a price.

Where do you fall on this?

Not to be a jerk, my friend, but this subject has been discussed to the vomit point. Check back a page or two and I think you'll see where most stand.

I think Roy and Tony will work this out and RW will contribute alot to this team when they do. Was the price to high maybe so but it is done and all anyone can hope for is Tony and Roy do get things worked out. I don't spend to much time looking backwards at what if. Dallas made the move now they have to try and make it work.

Bryan Broadus has been saying that Roy is getting open. So him being covered is not the problem.

The problem seems to be the communication between him and his QB + Romo throwing quite a few completely off target passes Roys way.

So its still to early for this kind of stuff... But its Dallas and of course the fans will over react extremely quick to anything and everything.

If they don't ever get on the same page, then yes. No one can argue that his production matches a first-third rounder as far as value, especially with the solid way we've been drafting. But I'm confident it'll work itself out.

Roy could catch 19 of 20 passes and people around here would whine about the one he didn't catch.

Totally! Dude, 16 games isn't nearly enough time to rack up more than 3 TDs! Some people are so impatient.

I am still betting that he comes on STRONG down the stretch. A difference maker. Just dont get TO on us with his mouth and the media.

As much as I've hated the RW trade to this point, I still beleive (hope) this happens also. I've said it once and I'll say it again: If RW and TR DO get on the same page, combined with the level that Austin is playing at...........LOOK OUT!

Seriously.. I'm rooting for Roy but we have to be serious here. Miles has outproduced his entire Dallas career in only 3 starts. Roys attitude isn't helping either but I'd much rather have Roy over TO.

Hindsight is 20/20 but those draft pics and a line up of Miles, Crayton, Hurd, Ogletree looks exciting.

For the record though, RW is a big dude with nice hands. I'm hoping he can shut his mouth and get on the same page with Tony. I'm rooting for him.

The thing is though i'd be happy if he just turns into a bigtime complimentary player for us at this point.

Not because I don't think he can be a great WR, because I do.

But I just love see'ing Miles Austin do his thing. He is another guy that would've been shipped out of town along time ago if it were up to Cowboys fans.

If we still had TO here we would NOT see the breakout year that Austin is having. So yes I'm glad we did the trade. Plus I still have hope for Roy, they will get on the same page eventually.

Yes at this point the trade is a bust. It should be pretty obvious. 1,3, and a 5 for someone who's putting up 3rd WR numbers isn't a good trade, but it has been beaten into the ground.

Just the fact we got rid of MeO makes the trade worth it.
Since I agree with you, which of us do you think will get more flak over saying so, you or me? :p:

What I'm hoping to see is the coaches in the Philly game limit RW to 3 routs the slant, the post and the go rout have RW work on those 3 routs to help build some confidence between him and Romo.

I rarely think about T. Owens anymore, other than occasionally being thankful that he's gone. But, of course, you are absolutely right that had Roy Williams not been acquired by Dallas, chances are that Owens would still be on the team.

I'm glad that Jerry showed Owens the door.

It could be that Jerry traded for the wrong WR in Roy Williams. It'll take more time before I'll be convinced that Roy Williams is an inadequate WR, but I'm already convinced that the team is better off without Owens.
