The board would be a more enjoyable place if we didn't trade for him, but I have a feeling those that like to ***** would find something else to cry about during a winning streak.

Exactly.

Did you see how calm this board has been the last few weeks?

Cowboys fans feed off controversy.

We've already tried to replace Romo this year... Always something.

Just to clarify, I was not taking a shot at the entire board, just the clowns that insist on posting RW thread after RW thread. I have come to believe they are just lonely people who crave attention.

was a bad trade. If we were going to cut TO i'd rather us drafted a WR early instead of going with RW he isn't giving us anything that a rookie wouldn't be able to give us.
So, you wanted a wide receiver in the April 2008 draft. Which one?

Okay but what does that has to do with the thread?

Just some trivia, but here is a smapling of what we gave up:

One of the following:
J Maclin, Percy Harvin, Alex Mack, Hakeem Nicks, Vonte Davis, Clay matthews, M Oher, Delmas, Alphonso Smith, Evander Hood, Maualuga, Ebben Britton, etc.

PLUS one these these:
Mike Wallace, Ladarius Webb, Ryan Mouton, B Tate, Asher Allen, Mike Thomas, etc, etc

PLUS more.....

So it was VERY expensive. There are some tremedous players on that partial list.
Water under the bridge though. I think definely Witten will pick it some now that Austin is demanding more attention and I think Roy will eventually come around. Our receiving group certainly is not an issue right now.

That would have sucked to end up with Percy Harvin................

Seriously though, I agree, it's water under the bridge. The only thing that matters, at this point, is that Romo and Roy get on the same page and they start clicking.

I won't lie, though, the amount of time it's taking is discouraging. Hopefully soon. That's all I can say.

Too many homers in this thread.

Wow dude. I'm about the farthest thing there is from a homer around here. I've been as critical as anyone on everything from Romo, to Wade, to RW, but you? Your sig says everything that needs to be said about you (atleast in this forum). Critical is one thing, but to flex stupidity in the name of an agenda is another beast altogether. You've got that corner LOCKED down, brutha.

It's too bad that rational thought has become the victim of circumstance in your personal crusade to right the Cowboy wrongs in an internet forum.

Obviously it was a mistake. Roy Williams is a #2 or #3 receiver in the NFL right now, and we gave up a boat load of picks and money for him to be a #1. Why is this even a question? Just look at the numbers.

Yes.

The Roy Williams deal was a mistake.

And it's turning out to be a larger mistake each and every day.

Any way we can make a Roy Williams Zone?

It's obvious we made a mistake. I haven't been to this forum in a long time and thought I would stop by and it's amusing to see the same politics are being played when I left. The people who vehemently defended the Roy Williams trade are the same ones who are sticking by him now instead of admitting they were wrong. I and many like me said we should have waited until the end of the season instead of jumping the gun and being forced to trade a 1st, 3rd and a 6th. People were arguing that we would have had been forced to give those same draft picks if we had waited at the end of the season which I don't agree with. As I mentioned back then, we could have had a much better receiver in Anquan Boldin for less. With Anquan and Roy available, it would have driven down the asking price for Roy and we could have got him or Anquan for much less. The Cardinals were trying to trade him last summer and were willing to accept a 1st by itself or a combination of picks. Who would you rather have right now, a tough and disciplined route runner like Boldin or a lazy route runner and fragile receiver like Roy Williams.

Trust me, the people who are defending Roy will do so even at the end of the season when he still has not proven himself. I've learned with this forum, some fans are illogical and support certain players(Quincy Carter, Greg Ellis) out of ego rather than acknowledging they were wrong. Seriously, I can't believe the nerve of some fans to even question if this was a mistake. It was obviously a mistake. Quit playing politics and be man enough to admit you were wrong. I don't care about Roy. I've moved past him and realized we can win without a great performance by him. We will draft well next summer and replace him with a quality receiver.
