Fad? Pokemon isn't a "fad", it's been going strong for two decades now and is only topped by Mario. Please, can someone here give a valid criticism outside of stupid people doing stupid things?

Pokémon Go is a fad and it's not decades old. It just recently came out.
I didn't know being 47 makes me an old man.

pokemon has been around forever. pokemon GO came out a week or so ago.

they were highly annoying as a burger king toy, they're moreso annoying now.

Again, it's not a fad. it's popular because it's Pokemon. This is not even a new app, Google released something similar (Just without the Pokemon) a couple years ago. This is popular because it's Pokemon, and anyone calling anything that has to do with Pokemon a "fad" has little understanding of the franchise and the word "fad". Yes, this app is at it's hottest right now just like nearly everything at it's initial release, but this isn't going to be something everyone on the planet forgets about in a week or two. This is going to be expanded upon by Google and Nintendo. Heck, it's not even released in Japan yet. This is just the beginning.

First off, no it's not a fad. Secondly, something would need to die out to be a "fad". Which, as of now, you would still be misusing the label.
